Creators United Interview: ZiffDiffie (The SA Geeks)
The SA Geeks' lively ZiffDiffie is one of the founders of the Creators initiative, having been in the game for a while with his wife, Kez. Nexus got the opportunity to chat with ZiffDiffie, his inspirations, what his favourite video game is (the answer may surprise you, maybe), and his appreciation for RustyPieLover (if you're reading this, RustyPieLover, he really loves you). Let's get cracking!
What inspired you to be a content creator?
We actually did a recap video of how it got made!
Who are your inspirations, and why?
I'm my own person. I swear a lot, so I guess we try to be different. I would say people we do like is RustyPieLover. Also, some of our friends, Lady and Machine.
What type of content do you create?
Games, geek and cosplay.
What prompted you to participate in the Creators United?

Do you have other charities in mind to raise funds for in the future?
I was one of the instigators in Animal Allies, the non-profit charity organization that the Creators Ball raised for last year. But I would like to focus on lesser known animal charities in the future. Also, more orphanages and soup kitchens.
Have you ever worked with any charity events before?
We obviously deal with charities quite often. Outside of that, we're big into animal rescue and awareness. Blankets for the homeless. I don't like seeing them suffer, especially during winter.
When you’re not a content creator/superhero, what do you do in your daily life?
I'm just an IT tech guy. I fix computers!
What are the greatest difficulties you’ve faced being a content creator?
The biggest thing is being a couple and doing this. We're happily married. There are times where we'll have an argument, and we get into those fights once in a while.
How did you feel when your content was appreciated for the first time?
When people carried on donating all the way to R28k last year at Creators Ball... we honestly can't tell you how much we appreciate our community. They're amazing.
What is your ultimate goal as a content creator?
We eventually want creators not just in South Africa, but all over the world to participate. That's the big-time goal.
Favourite dinosaur?
Titanosaurus.
Why did you choose your specific handle?
Mine comes from our cat. His name is Gandalf, which went from Gandiffy, to ZiffDiffie.
Favourite video game?
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
How did you get here?
(strokes chin) by car.
What’s your favourite and least favourite food?
Favourite, hamburgers. Least favourite, kale.
Favourite Pokemon?
Eevee!
Favourite movie?
Deadpool, the first one.
