Nice gameplay trailer for Metro 2039. So so damn good. Metro 2033 and Last Light are such amazing games. I mean, I liked Exodus as well, but it didn't need open world zones. But still great regardless.

@Tea

60FPS was also not a deal break for me given that it's an RPG. My TV luckily does support 120HZ / VRR so I was going to opt for the 40FPS mode. Wish more devs would do that. It's the perfect compromise between FPS and Visuals.

But then again, I'm not too much bothered about graphics to be honest. Gameplay and how much fun it is, is what most important to me. Nice graphics are a bonus though

you know I'm actually okay with 30FPS on most games with quality mode but im sure the 60fps guys will be happy to hear that!

Obsidian is Safe From Impending Xbox Studio Closures – Report

by Sam Aberdeen on 03 July, 2026

Amidst all the chaos and confusion about Xbox’s reported mass layoffs and studio closures next week, a new rumour surfaced yesterday claiming Avowed and The Outer Worlds developer Obsidian Entertainment was also on the chopping block next to the likes of Ninja Theory, Double Fine and Arkane Studios. Reliable journalist Jason Schreier has now put to rest these rumours, claiming that Obsidian is actually not in negotiations to be shut down.

Responding to the report about Obsidian’s potential closure on BlueSky, Schreier stated, “I can confirm that Obsidian is not in negotiations to avoid shutting down. Plenty of details are still up in the air surrounding the layoffs (picture will be clear on Monday) but Xbox is keeping Obsidian, according to people familiar with the situation.”

For now, it seems like Xbox still sees value in Obsidian Entertainment and the beloved Fallout: New Vegas developer is avoiding closure in next week’s rumoured layoffs. The same can’t be said for other studios possibly facing closure. Rumours indicate that Ninja Theory, Double Fine and Compulsion Games are in negotiations with Xbox to avoid shutting down, either by being sold off or going independent.

The biggest studio at risk of closure is Arkane. The developer is currently working on Marvel’s Blade, though that also faces potential cancellation now, according to reports. Back in May 2024, Xbox made the decision to close down Arkane Austin after the failure of its co-op vampire shooter, Redfall. The remaining staff at Arkane Studios, mostly comprised of Arkane Lyon members that worked on Deathloop, began working on Marvel’s Blade.

Xbox game unions are now calling for better worker protections against the proposed layoffs next week in an effort to try and negate the damage. Many expect these layoffs to hit particularly hard and right now, the uncertainty of if these studios will survive the culling has a lot of employees nervous.
