Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed again. CD Projekt Red made the announcement today via social media confirming that they need extra time in development to ensure that the ambitious open world RPG runs on all the platforms it will be releasing on, which includes both current-gen, next-gen, PC and Google Stadia. Fortunately, it's not a massive delay as the game has a new release date of early December, meaning it's a couple of weeks to wait.

CD Projekt Red announced on social media today that Cyberpunk 2077 will be delayed by 21 days, moving from its original November 19th release date to the new date of December 10th. This was done in order to ensure that it runs smoothly on all platforms, though the trouble of working from home also came up which surely hindered development time. CD Projekt Red apologized for the delay, even stating that their certified gold status didn't entirely mean that they were done working on the product. As it stands now, Cyberpunk 2077 has shifted itself out of November and will now release in December, missing eligibility to be a contender at this year's Game Awards.

Fans have divided themselves over this news, with some citing Jason Schreier's earlier reports about crunch culture at the studio not being a good indicator for a healthy work environment and leading to extra crunch time. Others, however, have remained supportive of CD Projekt Red and agree that 21 extra days might be useful to help fine-tune the product so that it runs on all the platforms it will release on. Cyberpunk 2077 will no longer release in the crowded November window, which sees big releases like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon's Souls and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, among many others.
Cyberpunk 2077 now releases on December 10th, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia, with upgrades to PS5 and Xbox Series X.
