The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series (and by extension, many of his follow-up titles including the Underground games) have hosted a number of surprise celebrity and pop culture cameos, some of the more famous ones including almost the entire cast of Jackass and, of course, Spider-Man. With the upcoming remakes of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 on the horizon, fans were wondering which celebrity or pop culture cameo might make an appearance, or if they'll stick to the original games' cameos (we need Spider-Man!). However, it seems like dataminers have discovered someone quite... tenacious.

As reported by IGN, the recent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 demo on PC opened the way for dataminers to dig through the game's files and uncover some hidden secrets - one of which happened to be a secret celebrity cameo. For those familiar with the original titles, Officer Dick was a playable secret character, usually unlocked once certain criteria have been fulfilled (that the game doesn't tell you about). Officer Dick has found his way into these remakes as well, but this time, donning a familiar face. The model is seemingly based on actor Jack Black, famous for movies like Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny and School of Rock, among many others.

It shouldn't come as a surprise to hear about Jack Black's involvement in the remakes either, as he previously made a surprise cameo in a skateboarding YouTube channel called The Berrics, which had Tony Hawk interviewing "the original THPS Cast", one of which happened to be Black himself. Black would later post about his on his own gaming YouTube channel, Jablinski Games, so it's not that big of a secret. However, unfortunately dataminers couldn't find any trace of Spider-Man, which is sad considering he was one of the most popular secret unlockable characters in the original games. We'll just have to wait and see what Activision's plans are.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 release on September 4th, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
