Recently, a report from Rely on Horror stated something quite remarkable: Sony was in talks with Konami to reboot the Silent Hill IP with numerous former members of Team Silent attached to return. Above all, they were working on patching the relationship between Hideo Kojima and Konami to allow the Silent Hills title to be revived. Unfortunately, new developments have surfaced to clarify that these rumours are not true.

A North American Konami PR representative recently confirmed with Rely on Horror that these reports were simply not true. "We’re aware of all the rumors and reports but can confirm that they are not true," said the representative. "I know it’s not the answer your fans may want to hear. It’s not to say we are completely closing the door on the franchise, just not in the way it is being reported."
This comes as a bit of sad news for those hoping for a confirmation on this potentially exciting rumour, but we guess that we'll just have to take it as just that: a rumour. For most people, that report did seem a bit too good to be true. In an ideal world, perhaps, but it seemingly reiterates the rocky relationship between Kojima and Konami, which may be too far gone at this point. Despite numerous sources who have come forward in Rely on Horror's last report, they can't be verified right now.
