In today's Creators United line-up is another member of BloodRush Gaming, Vince "BrothersGrim311" James. Vince is passionate about growing the community, and its one of the main reasons he enjoys Fortnite as much as he does. Nexus got the chance to sit with Vince and chat to him about his motivations, his beliefs, and, of course, his involvement with Creators United.
What inspired you to be a content creator?
It's what I love, gaming is what I love, and creating content around gaming is something I am passionate about.
Who are your inspirations, and why?
My dad, just because he is steadfast in his decisions and he is always reasonable in the way he handles things.
What type of content do you create?
Game Streaming through BloodRush clan, focusing on community-heavy titles like Fortnite.
What would you do to further your field in the South African entertainment industry?
Honestly, I feel that the SA gaming scene is too "salty", and actually needs to be a community in order to grow. To get us to be recognised in the same way as the international communities, I would try to reduce the sodium content in the community.
What prompted you to participate in the Creators United?
It's just an awesome initiative, and I want to be a part of something to give back to the community; to be a part of something bigger than myself, and stand for something.
Have you ever worked with any charity events before?
Yes, the event was a children's home in Durban, and my mother was actually involved with marine wildlife rehab. That's where she found me, actually.
When you’re not a content creator/superhero, what do you do in your daily life?
Try and earn money, to be honest. I am a sales rep for a big alcohol company.
What are the greatest difficulties you’ve faced being a content creator?
Finances, as there is no essential support for the little guys. Also, you can't step off at any stage because you will fall behind if you do. That's why most of them have days jobs and do what they love by night.
How did you feel when your content was appreciated for the first time?
Shocked, and really appreciative because it's nice to see the hard work and dedication paying off.
What is your ultimate goal as a content creator?
Uniting, and growing, the community, and to a be a household name, eventually.
Loves games with deep character development and a rich storyline. Also, shooty-shooties. Loathes microtransactions. Likes to use sarcasm and metaphors.
