Fans of Playground Games' open-world racer, Forza Horizon 3 will be sad to hear that the studio has no planned car packs for the month of May 2017. Instead, the team is focusing its efforts on the Hot Wheels expansion due for release on May 9th.
This new expansion will see players racing off the coast of Australia across a set of fictional islands, all connected by the iconic bright orange tracks that Hot Wheels has made so popular. In addition to this, new events, multiplayer modes and a plethora of new vehicles will make their debut.
Here is a full list of vehicles making their way down-under (taken from TeamVVV):
• 1969 Hot Wheels Twin Mill - One of the very first in-house Hot Wheels designs, the Twin Mill is amongst one of Hot Wheels' most iconic cars. With 1,400bhp on tap, it's also potentially one of the fastest vehicles to ever grace a Forza game.
• 1972 Chrysler Valiant Charger R/T E49 - The only car ever fully designed and built by Chrysler Australia, and one of the last high-performance Aussie cars released prior to the infamous 'supercar scare'. Now also means the Ford Falcon GT-HO from the Rockstar Car Pack now has a direct competitor to fend off in Forza Horizon 3.
• 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang - Perhaps the only Hot Wheels design that began life as a real working car before being released as a 1:64-scale toy. Should also make a rather excellent drift vehicle, based on its handling quirks in Forza Motorsport 6.
• 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38 - Yes, this is the exact type of Toyota Hilux that Jeremy Clarkson and James May drove to the North Pole in. Also the most unusual car in the Hot Wheels Expansion, considering it's a far more suited to the terrain found in the Blizzard Mountain DLC.
• 2010 Pagani Zonda R - A former Nurburgring Nordschliefe lap record holder, and a fan favourite that last made a Forza appearance in the original Forza Horizon. One can only imagine how the Pagani Zonda R will fare on the curly wurly Hot Wheels tracks in the new expansion.
• 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker - Like the Twin Mill, another iconic creation of Hot Wheels' talented design team. Hopefully the wacky race aero parts available on the Bone Shaker in Forza Motorsport 6 have made their way over into Forza Horizon 3 intact.
• 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod - It may end up being the slowest of the cars in this expansion, but the Rip Rod will certainly be the most unique way in which to explore Forza Horizon 3's gorgeous Aussie landscape.
• 2016 Jeep Trailcat - If it weren't for the availability of the Lamborghini V12 engine swap option in Forza Horizon 3, the Jeep Wrangler-based, 707bhp Trailcat would comfortably be the game's craziest off-road-ready vehicle.
• 2016 Zenvo STI - Contrary to popular belief, the Zenvo ST1 isn't the first car to come from Dennmark. With bold styling, outrageous performance and a rediculous price tag, though, it's by far the most extreme car to ever emerge from the Scandinavian nation.

One tablespoon Star Wars, a dollop of motorsport, a splash of Metal Gear. And a pinch of space magic. Mix and blend. Smashing! Is also running for congress.
