Todd MacFarlane Teases Spawn Coming to Mortal Kombat 11
Fans have been asking for Todd MacFarlane's iconic comic book character, Spawn, to make an appearance in a Mortal Kombat game ever since the tenth entry in the series in 2015. While some speculated that he might arrive as a potential DLC character, the more time went on, the more evident it became that it simply wouldn't be happening. Now, we may finally have confirmation that Spawn is heading to the recently announced Mortal Kombat 11.
The news comes from a reddit AMA involving MacFarlane himself. When asked, ""Will you please let Spawn be in Mortal Kombat 11?" the comic book artist responded with, "I believe he's on his way...".
While this isn't concrete confirmation that Spawn is heading to Mortal Kombat 11 - since it wasn't technically announced by NetherRealm Studios - this is a very good indicator that the character is, indeed, making his way to the game in some capacity as MacFarlane is a close, reliable source. This should be exciting news for fans (like myself) who had hoped that the comic book anti-hero would make his bloody debut in a Mortal Kombat game one day. My mind is racing with the potential fatalities one could conjure up around Spawn.
We will await for official confirmation from NetherRealm Studios on this matter, but it seems likely that Spawn will finally be making his way to the series. Exciting time indeed!
Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
