New Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Stats Reveal Concerning Bloodlust For an Innocent NPC
Larian Studios continues to provide annual updated player stats for its award-winning 2023 RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3, and to nobody’s surprise, most of the stats expose the darkest sides of humanity. The most terrifying stat provided is one involving the lovable Bard, Alfira, and a bizarre bloodlust for the character that actually has nothing to do with the Dark Urge storyline.
Larian Studios provided the new stats for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Bluesky. First and foremost, over 500 million mods have been downloaded across all platforms, helped by the fact that Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the very few games that features mod support on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Other stats also show that Zevlor, the Tiefling leader at the Emerald Grove, was the NPC that died the most next to the bumbling wizard Rolan and the cleric Isabel.
The developer revealed a surprising stat that caught many off-guard: more non-Dark Urge players murdered Alfira than Dark Urge players. This is interesting because if you play the Dark Urge path, killing Alfira is unavoidable in a certain cutscene (unless you do the very long and complicated workaround). If you’re non-Dark Urge and a regular Tav, you actually have to go out of your way to kill Alfira. It’s also possible that Alfira could die during Act 2 during a scuffle, but that’s unlikely to happen if you’re a half-decent player. So why does everyone hate Alfira?
Other interesting stats show that only 1% of players managed to stock up on over 4,000 camp supplies. Meanwhile, a rusty dagger called the Poo-Scraper was used a total of only 4 times during Act 3. I’ve put over 500 hours into Baldur’s Gate 3 and this is the first time I’ve heard about the legendary Poo-Scraper.
