Netflix's Dragon's Dogma Anime Debuts Stunning Opening Video
Netflix previously unveiled that they will be adapting Capcom's RPG, Dragon's Dogma, into an anime. The show is scheduled to be released this week, on September 17th, exclusively on Netflix. With the streaming service aggressively pushing for more exclusive anime productions, like the recently released Japan Sinks, then it's no surprise that they're turning to video games for source material. Now, with the anime a few days away from airing, we finally got a glimpse of the opening video that shows some truly impressive CGI and art.

The opening video for Netflix's Dragon's Dogma shows various haunting imagery completely in CGI, kind of echoing the opening credits for David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (" class="general_link" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" >check it out, it's awesome). We're teased with some of the potential monsters to come in the anime, as well as imagery that could suggest important plot points later down the line - though nothing too spoiler-heavy. It's not too flashy yet quite masterfully done, making us a bit more excited for the show to come. Check out the trailer below:
Netflix's description of the show reads:
"The story follows a man's journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an ‘Arisen’. An action adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans."
Dragon's Dogma releases on September 17th, 2020 exclusively on Netflix.
