Mortal Kombat 11 had its glorious reveal event last night, where we engaged in the festivities via our livestream " class="general_link" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" >here. The reveal event was packed with new reveals, gameplay footage, and mechanics. However, most people wanted to see which characters made the cut, and what developer NetherRealm Studios had cooked up for new fighters. Below, we have a comprehensive list of all the confirmed returning and new characters (with some rumoured); including a handful of legacy fighters.

Scorpion: Ed Boon's main returns to Mortal Kombat 11. No surprise there, really.
Sub-Zero: Scorpion's punching bag for the last two games seems buffed up and ready to retaliate.
Raiden: Surprise! Raiden is now a bad guy, and now donning the edgy "Dark Raiden" title.
Baraka: Everyone's favourite face-eating baddy makes a great, spine-tingling comeback.
Skarlet: Skarlet has been given a face-lift with new blood-bending abilities. Honestly, she just looks and plays amazingly.
Sonya Blade: Ronda Rousey voices the new and... enhanced Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11.
Geras: New Elder God Geras is a brawler who can manipulate time. Should make for some interesting mix-ups.
Shao Kahn: Brace yourselves, Shao Kahn is coming back. Sadly, he will only be a pre-order bonus character, but expect him to show up at a later stage too.
Liu Kang: Liu Kang was once the face of Mortal Kombat before Scorpion ripped it from him, but he will be present in Mortal Kombat 11. It's unclear if he will be a playable character.
Kung Lao: Kung Lao shows up alongside Liu Kang in a brief cutscene (donning the Shaolin Monks outfits). Not confirmed yet to be a playable character, but we're betting that he will be.
Shinnok: The big meanie of Mortal Kombat X is a bit of a sob story in Mortal Kombat 11, but it's also unclear if he will be a playable character.
Cassie Cage: Yet again, it's unconfirmed if she'll be a playable character since she was only featured in a cutscene, though I look forward to her Snapchat filter variation of the selfie fatality. Please make this happen.
Kronika: The female boss character of the game, Kronika also has the ability to manipulate time.
Kabal (Maybe): Kabal might've been teased in the reveal event in (quite literally) a brief flash, though we will have confirmation on this very soon.
Kitana (Rumoured): Kitana was shown in the dev diary for Mortal Kombat 11, though its uncertain if she made the "cut" yet.
Rain (Rumoured): Pro-Mortal Kombat eSports player Sonic Fox may have preemptively teased Rain, but there's no confirmation from NetherRealm yet if he will be a playable character.
Mileena (Rumoured): There's no confirmation yet of Mileena appearing on the roster, though some speculate that she might be our first DLC character.
In total, there will be 25 characters in the roster, so more are expected to arrive over the course of the next few months. Who would you like to see make a comeback in Mortal Kombat 11?
Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch release to follow in May.
