Earlier this year, Nintendo officially announced The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake for the Nintendo Switch 2, a ground-up remake of the legendary title. Apart from a short CG trailer, we have little to no information about the project. A new rumour now suggests that the developer behind the remake is none other than Xenoblade Chronicles studio Monolith Soft.
The rumour originates from Norwegian retailer Elkjøp, which recently listed Monolith Soft as the developer of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake on its website. As many have already pointed out, Monolith Soft has served as a support studio under Nintendo for several titles beyond being the primary developers of the Xenoblade games. More specifically, they provided support for the development of previous Zelda games like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
