Ever since Capcom made the decision to shift back to their roots for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, the series has seen a drastic change - or more accurately, a great return to form. While Resident Evil 7 emphasized the survival horror aspect, offering limited weapons, ammunition and resources, it brought back that feeling of helplessness and intensity that had sorely been missing from the series for over a decade. Now, it looks like Capcom might be doubling down on weapons again in their upcoming Resident Evil Village, along with revealing a handful of other details.

According to Capcom, Resident Evil Village will have a greater variety of weapons than Resident Evil 7 - which only had a handful of weapons to choose from. This information came from yesterday's Play!Play!Play! event from PlayStation Japan (translated and summerized by DuskGolem). In addition to the increased weapon count, Capcom also confirmed that the more open-ended design of the game lends itself to having multiple paths to take into a scenario. Players will also be able to define their own playstyle, either through the increased weapons or even stealth situations, which means they're viable options for exploration and combat.
