@Catha - I get you - I still waited on the physical for Alan Wake 2. Was also improved by then with updates

Luckily we arent starved for games at the moment - too many releases

This all is starting to seem rather deliberate from publishers. Absolute scum

@Tea - it's pretty sad. Like Physical needs any more blows

Going to suck, navigating the minefield of spoilers. Already a 2 day early access perk for deluxe digital. Now a further 3 weeks.

I suppose it's better than the year that AW2 had to wait.

Nexus Weekly News Round-Up 17/07: Far Cry 6, Tsushima Reviews, and Farewell Xbox One X

by Sam Aberdeen on 17 July, 2020

It's Friday, and you know what that means? Well, since this is just the first segment of our Weekly News Round-Up, I guess you know now. With that cliched introduction out of way, let's dive into some of the hottest news and stories this side of the gaming and entertainment world. This week had a lot of surprises and some big game drops. Fans of Sucker Punch and samurai video games are currently enjoying the exquisite experience of Ghost of Tsushima, while Xbox nails the coffin on the Xbox One X. On top of that, Ubisoft came out swinging with their first Ubisoft Forward event earlier this week, unveiling Far Cry 6 in the process. Let's take a walk.

Gus Fring Becomes a Dictator in Far Cry 6

The biggest reveal of the Ubisoft Forward event was undoubtedly Far Cry 6 (despite leaking a few days earlier). The anticipated open world title will star Giancarlo Esposito, best known for playing the intimidating villain Gustavo "Gus" Fring on Breaking Bad. Esposito plays the dictator of a fictional Latin-American country called Yara, and like Far Cry 4, it's up to either the male or female protagonist to overthrow the tyrannical ruler. Far Cry 6 comes with an abundance of editions, which one will you pick? The game launches on February 18th, 2020 with free upgrades available to PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Alatreon Destroys Us, And We Fight Back

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne received its new major update in the form of the Blazing Black Dragon himself, Alatreon. This Black Dragon is a master of all the elements, but thanks to some new mechanics, makes this fight a terrifyingly difficult ordeal. Luckily, we have some tips and tricks on how to take down the raging master of elements (call him the Avatar's pet), so hopefully it spares you a controller or two.

Farewell, Xbox One X

Xbox recently announced that the Xbox One X, along with the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, would be discontinued in manufacturing. This comes ahead of the big Xbox Games Showcase happening later next week, so expect Microsoft to lean more heavily into the marketing for their next-gen console, the Xbox Series X. Thankfully, some retailers will still be stocking the Xbox One X until its demise, so happy hunting, gamers.

And Your Winners Are...

Due to the ongoing global pandemic, Nexus Hub's retail had ceased from operating for a few months. While we're slowly getting back on our feet now, we couldn't have done it without the support of our great community who helped us raise nearly R300k for our staff fundraiser. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you, and hope these selected winners enjoy their prizes ranging from R500 vouchers to use at the Nexus, to one lucky winner of the Limited Edition PS4 20th Anniversary Console!

Reviews of Tsushima

The review embargo for Sucker Punch's latest PS4 exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima, broke a few days of the game's release today - and we absolutely loved it, awarding it a near-perfect 9.5/10. Thanks to a review code provided by PlayStation, we were able to spend a good few weeks exploring all that the game had to offer, and there's a lot here to satisfy fans of unique open world designs, terrific combat, and some heartfelt homages to the likes of legendary filmmaker Akira Kurosawa. Is it an early Game of the Year contender? Time will tell, but for now, we hope you enjoy your journey into the wars of Tsushima. Show those Mongols the spirit of vengeance!
