MotoGP 19 Will Use Amazon GameLift Servers, Race Director Mode, More
MotoGP 19, the next installment of the franchise from developers Milestone, have released a little more information on what to expect from the upcoming racing simulator.
MotoGP 19 will utilise Amazon GameLift servers, to ensure the "lowest latency for the best possible performance". "Michele Caletti, Producer at Milestone, said: "Racing games are incredibly demanding in terms of bandwidth and ping time to recreate a believable action on track. To manage a MotoGP bike moving at 300km/h, you need absolute precision on collisions, and a precise reproduction of the opponents' moves. Thanks to GameLift, ping times are not only lower, but much more consistent. Bandwidth from the server is virtually removed as an issue, and every player has the same data movement. And the on-track feeling is now incredible!".
This also allows players to browse Public Lobbies to find a game, or make your own match in the Private Lobbies. Note: The Nintendo Switch version will not feature online multiplayer, but will support local multiplayer.
Excitingly, Milestone has finally introduced a Race Director Mode, the first in the series, that allows dictating the action on the track. Race Director Mode allows you to set the rules for the race, the location, and even dish out penalties to offending riders.
MotoGP 19 launches on the 6th of June for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as well as Nintendo Switch on the 27th of June.
