Microsoft's secret (but not-so-secret) newly announced development team, The Initiative, has been on a hiring spree lately of some prolific talents in the gaming industry. They previously bagged developers who had worked on Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and God of War. Now, the team has added a few more developers to their expanding roster, which includes developers from games like Days Gone and Anthem, among others.

According to updates on their LinkedIn profiles (thanks, VGC), The Initiative has hired Sean Slayback, who has worked on the likes of Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2; Ryan Duffin, who previously worked on Anthem and many Battlefield games; Justin Walters, who worked on Star Wars: Battlefront II; and finally, Ryan Trowbridge, whose impressive portfolio of work includes Days Gone and every Uncharted game, from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to Uncharted: A Thief's End, including The Last of Us.
Due to the variety of games that these developers have worked on, it's hard to say exactly what The Initiative is planning. Many of them have experience in developing third-person action/adventure titles, as well as first-person shooters and RPGs - with some having worked on multiplayer games too. There's endless possibilities as to what Microsoft's secret team is making, but we assume it will be something that will boost the appeal of the next-gen Xbox console, Project Scarlett. With Ninja Theory and Obsidian Entertainment also under Xbox's belt, the future is looking promising for Microsoft.
