The idea of a "demake" is an interesting concept, as it means the complete opposite of remaking a game with upgraded visuals and mechanics - instead, some creative fans will often purposefully downgrade a game so that it matches a specific style. The results are pretty spectacular and charming in all the right ways.

Max Mraz, who is best known as the indie developer behind Ocean's Heart, recently developed a short Bloodborne-inspired project called Yarntown. The game takes the blueprints of Bloodborne, including its setting, mechanics, and features, and flips the world design and gameplay perspective into a Zelda-influenced top-down adventure title. Yarntown specifically adapts the Central Yharnam portion of the game, ending with the boss battle against the Cleric Beast.
