Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is the second game to come out of the partnership between Xbox and Ninja Theory, the acclaimed developers behind Heavenly Blade and DmC: Devil May Cry. Hellblade II will continue the journey of Senua started in the first game, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, which released in 2017. Sadly, it seems like the anticipated sequel is still far off from release. However, at the Xbox Games Showcase yesterday, we received a few interesting new details from Ninja Theory about the sequel's interesting setting and ambitions.

While we didn't get a new trailer for Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Ninja Theory did offer a kind of developer diary on what their plans are for the sequel. Firstly, it will be set in Iceland, with a far more expansive and ambitious world than the first game. Ninja Theory showed plenty of real-world locations from Iceland which they lifted inspiration from, and will most likely be areas we'll see recreated in the final product. Hellblade II will have players apparently travel "hundreds of miles seamlessly across Iceland", which sounds like it might be targeting an open world. Check out the developer diary below:
