Last year, Ubisoft surprised the gaming world when they announced that they would be remaking Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, thus reviving the long-dormant action/adventure series. The reveal trailer left a lot to be desired from a graphical standpoint, though, leading to the game's eventual delay in order to take feedback into account and polish up the visuals and various other aspects. Unfortunately, we'll have to be waiting a bit longer it seems, as the remake will skip Ubisoft Forward at E3 2021.

A message from the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake development team stated that they will not present the game at Ubisoft's E3 2021 showcase. They reassure fans that they're making progress in development, but aren't ready to show off the game just yet. Due to this messaging, it's possible that we won't see the remake until next year at the latest. The game was originally planned to release in early 2021, but the team needed more time to work on the project, alongside the complications that arose from the ongoing global pandemic affecting development of games worldwide.

"As you might have already read, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will not be in Ubisoft Forward," the statement reads. "We are making great progress for our game to release next year, but we are not ready to share any additional information just yet. We will share an update as soon as we are ready. Until then, we wanted to express our appreciation for your continuous support, as well as your patience with us on our journey. We're looking forward to the moment when we will be able to share more with you!"
Ubisoft is expected to show off many other titles at their E3 2021 presentation, though, some of which include Far Cry 6 and Riders Republic. It remains to be seen if they will break the silence on Beyond Good & Evil 2 either, a game that has seen quite a rocky development history. However, Prince of Persia fans will need to wait a little while longer to see how much progress the team has made on their anticipated remake.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is currently in development.
