MotoGP fans have been longing for a new release regarding the beloved motorcycle racing game. Developer Milestone and DORNA SPORTS S.L have come together to announce the next release of MotoGP in the form of MotoGP 18. According to the developers, it offers more than just a new year in the name.
The game is set to release on June 7th and will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, launching later in the game's life cycle on Nintendo Switch. The recent season in the motorsport has been very heated, and Milestone has ensured that they encapsulated that passion and high-octane racing in MotoGP 18. The Lead Designer, Matteo Pezzotti, even went as far as to say that “MotoGP 18 is set to be the reboot of our flagship title,” announcing that the title is rebuilt, and will feature a lot more for players to interact with regarding the game. He goes on to further say “with the aim of offering the greatest and purest MotoGP experience to all fans.”
With competition looming, the next iteration of MotoGP will have to live up to its word. With MotoGP 18 using the Unreal Engine, fans can expect an increase in the visual quality and overall physics of the game.
Managing Director at Dorna Sports S.L, Pau Serracanta has given fans an idea of where the game is heading by stating “it will take gamers to the next exciting phase of the eSport Championship.” Indicating that the next phase of MotoGP is set at higher goals than just giving players the ability to play as their favourite riders on track. Features that fans should pay attention to include, a 1:1 recreation of tracks using drone scanning technology, and Enhanced AI, Bike Physics and Collision systems. These features, along with a more compelling career mode, should give MotoGP the edge it needs.
MotoGP 18 looks to be a compelling motorcycle racer for both veterans of the franchise, and newcomers to enjoy. With the game’s launch on June 7th, we will have to see what the final product will reveal. However, the news does look good for MotoGP 18, if these changes are implemented well.
Will defend anything Dragon Ball. Occasionally has two-way conversations with himself. Has sleepless nights about Half-Life 3 confirmed.
