As expected, Electronic Arts and developer Motive have delayed the upcoming Dead Space Remake to 2023. The game, which was announced last year in August, won’t make it to release this year.
According to Venturebeat, EA has yet to make the announcement but developers working on the project have already braced themselves for the delay. EA and Motive are set to showcase Dead Space Remake sometime today during a special developer update. The delay will most likely be announced during that stream.

In August last year when EA and Motive announced the Dead Space Remake, the publisher originally aimed for a fall 2022 release window. This meant the game was originally meant to launch around September – November 2022. The latest update from sources claims that this is no longer the case.
Instead, the Dead Space Remake will now target an early 2023 release so we can most likely expect to see it before March next year. Keep in mind that this Dead Space Remake isn’t just a simple remaster of the game. Motive is building the game from the ground up using new assets, movement systems and a whole new engine that takes advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S hardware.
Our first glimpse of the game last year saw an incredible-looking game that aims to revive the horror genre at EA. Motive describes the remake to be on par with the likes of the Resident Evil 2 remake. This process will take time to achieve.
