@BobTheThird - It's not something I'd jump on were it not for some life insurance/vitality payouts at the end of the year but I agree with Magius, it's not a bad price point for what you're getting.

I've no doubt it'll still fall consistently behind high-end PCs but it's a good match for the surge in 4K TVs and given MS's shift to the incremental model it's far less of a risk than a PS4 Pro. Sure the next console will be a step up, but you'll still get to play all the games, albeit it lower graphical settings,, and the devs will have done the tweaking for you.

I got my son a pretty high spec PC two months ago for R3 500 including a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GIG) card.

Also got 16 GIG of RAM and a 1 TB drive.

Got a EVGA Z270 Classified K motherboard (not sure about if it’s a good one or not)….

I won my PS2 at work and swapped a PMI Razor paintball gun for my 500GIG Xbox360 and got my son Call of Duty edition Xbox360 for R800-00 with 5 games and a big box of Lego….

My son got his 3DS from ABSA Motor finance as they harassed him on his cellphone for outstanding payments and I threaten them that I will open a harassment case at the police against their directors. Part of the apology was the 3DS.

Swapped a limited edition 2008 Gencon exclusive Spectre figure for a 2DS…

I never paid full price for any gaming system…currently in talks for a PS4 and a Venter trailer for a mountain bike…

LOL Bob why are you complaining about the Xbox One X price if you were never going to pay for it anyway? Yoy can trade a bicycle, lawnmower, cat, kitchen sink etc for one in a few years. (JUST JOKING)

Scottie...if you wanna trade I can get those for you.....Hehe......

Put it here rather than game thread

Xbox One X Shadow of War shows profound improvements over PS4 Pro

Best tagline ever ....

One version to rule them all?

PS4 Pro was never a big deal, not for me anyway. The XBOX on the other hand looks to be a different story all together.

About time

Nice, sleek, small, no brick, but controllers still use batteries

"we can definitely say is that the machine is a love letter to the core gamer, with many forward-looking features. The implementation of FreeSync support - something we didn't have time to fully test - is the kind of feature we didn't expect to see until at least the next console generation. Meanwhile, the backwards compatibility features really are superb - if you've stayed with Xbox across the generations, you're in for a real treat here. There's a sense that Microsoft is paying homage to its roots, honouring its past successes and making genuine efforts in curating a great library - all at no cost to the user."

Got myself one of these bad boys, cause I'm worth it.

The controller itself is boss. Very well made, though to be honest I expected just a little bit more for the price.

Only mayor complaint I have is: to configure your extra paddles, you need an Xbox one or..... WINDOWS 10 !sick !sick !sick !sick

I spent way to long trying to get the ^&)^&)*) Win10 app to work. Just... sooo rubbish. And it was actually broken for a while. Microsoft broke their own app with an update.

Luckily, the internet came to the rescue with a brilliant program called reWASD. Total control over your hardware, easy use, no problem.

10/10 for hardware, win10/10 for software. Seriously M$, get your act together!

Why can't we get cool looking PS4 consoles like the Xbox?

Because Sony.

That controller is sweet.
