Still have fond memories of a desk in my room with a PC and next to it tiny 4:3 CRT with a PS2 (and later X360) that facilitated endless gaming sessions on a battered but incredibly comfy bean bag.
@Scottie it's weird that this console doesn't ship with that gears themed Elite controller, think many potential buyers aren't aware of this and could be pretty upset when they buy this and find that out.
First-person Puzzler The Turing Test Coming to Xbox One on August 30
In The Turing Test you wrack your brain whilst discovering the truth of humanity’s research base on Europa, solving puzzles using your EMT (Energy Manipulation Tool) to transpose power out from one object and into another. Power up and take control of artificially intelligent machines, manipulate giant structures, and solve complex tasks.
- Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate ($59.99 ERP): Available from August 1-31 on Xbox One
- WWE 2K16 ($39.99 ERP): Available from August 16-September 15 on Xbox One
- Spelunky ($19.99 ERP): Available from August 1-15 on Xbox 360 & Xbox One
- Beyond Good & Evil HD ($9.99 ERP): Available from August 16-31 on Xbox 360 & Xbox One
Spelunky is an amazing game, difficult as heck, but oh so rewarding. It was either out as a Plus game or I bought it as I have played it on my Vita.
I suppose WWE2k16 is a draw, not my cup of tea though.
Beyond Good & Evil - never played it but will give it a go since everyone raves about it and pines for that announced but yet to be released sequel.
Although Xbox One S definitely doesn’t improve every game (Fallout 4 didn’t get any better, unfortunately), the team tested several titles with the following results:
Project Cars first-person – average 7% improvement, spiking to 5fps
Project Cars third-person – average 11% improvement, spiking to 9fps
Hitman in unlocked frame rate mode – 6.1% improvement in cutscenes, 8.1% improvement in gameplay
Resident Evil 5 Remastered – 2.5% improvement
Tomb Raider – eliminates dips below 30fps lock
Batman: Arkham Knight – 4% improvement, reduction in stutter
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare (backwards compatible) – reduction in dips below 30fps lock
Digital Foundry also noted that Hitman ran 9% faster on Xbox One S than PS4 in certain situations
OK there is a cool feature, my games and apps now tells you how many of your games have updates waiting for them. I have 63 games, 9 apps, 9 ready to install games and 18 [censored] updates!!!
