I keep seeing references to HDR output. WTH is HDR and how does that improve graphics etc?

Interesting article on MCV (the gaming industry magazine) based on DF article.

Scorpio will have the power and Neo the price ($100 cheaper).

Another interesting article

OPINION: Is the £249 Xbox One S E3 2016's 'winner'?

it’s the cheapest 4K Blu-ray player on the market. And while 4K TV is in its infancy, there are already plenty of sets out there in homes

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/opinion-is-the-249-xbox-one-s-e3-2016-s-winner/0168499

Ironically sent the Xbox One S specs to a home theatre fanatic earlier this morning.

Xbox Chief Phil Spencer Talks Project Scorpio, VR, and Those Magical 6 Teraflops - Wired

“When we went out and talked to VR developers,” Spencer says, “the capability and the hardware spec that they need to deliver a console-like experience to VR was a requirement of 6 teraflops ...

Scorpio will be BC with Xbox 360 games

“Consoles created generations that effectively take your library back to zero; we’re trying to think beyond generations and say, how do you bring all the content that you purchased and love from this generation and move it forward with you?” he says.

" “We don’t want to force VR into a middle ground between the scale that we see in mobile, and what our customers [expect].” So even though future Xbox games will be compatible with all the Xbox One systems, the VR games will likely be Scorpio-exclusive." "

Hmm. . .

^ more of a bombshell/honest truth is that VR games are going to look like[censored] on the present consoles and the fact that Neo might be a bit light in the pants for it. Luckily I personally don't give a toss about VR.

Can play 4K video.
Its 40% smaller, can fit inside the original XB1.
Built in power supply, no more brick.
Has vertical stand.
New controller STILL uses batteries.
$300, so around R4500+-
Just that colour !sick

So spent a lot of time with my Elite controller in Quantum Break this weekend. And have to say that initial impressions confirmed, this is the only way to play games. The paddles take a little getting used to, but once you do they are a dream to use and make decision making in the thick of combat so much easier and fluid. The way I got used to the paddles was by forcing myself to use them all the time, including in menus etc. That way the become second nature.

Is it insanely expensive? Yes. Is this truly for competitive gamers. Kinda. Anyone who plays games regularly and for long periods not just competitive guys would benefit from this controller. I really wish that Sony made something similar for PS4 as this would be awesome in Overwatch.

Only downside, and very minor, is the fact that when I use it on PC the XB1 forgets about it so I have to plug a cable in to resync the controller to the console. No idea why that happens

Besides being butt ugly the theme sounds like it comes from something else. Perhaps a superhero film?

July Games with Gold makes that price hike a heckuva lot more palatable.

-The Banner Saga 2 ($19.99 ERP): Available from July 1-31 on Xbox One. Yep that isn't a typo, the to be released sequel is going straight to Gold. I have it on PC and was going to get the PS4 version, but now can save $20

-Tumblestone ($19.99 ERP): Available from July 16-August 15 on Xbox One

-Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 ($19.99 ERP): Available from July 1-15 on Xbox 360. Not the R6 games I want, but then again Raven Shield etc are PC only so this will do. Was a competent shooter, but I think Vegas was better than this sequel.

-Tron: Evolution ($14.99 ERP): Available from July 16-31 on Xbox 360

Banner Saga 2 will have a 10% discount on PS+

R6V2 had a pretty good leveling up system but otherwise inferior to R6V
