@vector I agree- You know which deluxe edition pleasently surprised me recently ....STAR WARS: Galactic Racer Deluxe Edition

Epic steelbook and packaging for the price!

@phreak yeah man, gosh. The Big 3 prime were peak anime days and each anime had incredible arcs. I still remember when Naruto transitioned into Shippuden, I was hype for weeks lol Simpler times hey

@Vector

It's one of my most hated things when companies/publishers decide to make their collector's editions exclusive to their own personal web stores. The CE for Ace Combat 8 Wings of Theve is something I would have instantly bought if it was available locally or through normal channels.

Square Enix is also notorious for doing this with their games and it will never not tick me off

I gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed with Ace Combat having such a lousy "Deluxe" edition. Basically just a different cover art and some trivial digital stuff. Same case, nothing special inside.

I know there's a steelbook announced somewhere, but I'm guessing not here. Not a criticism of Nexus Hub of course.

Bloodborne & The Old Hunters DLC

Easily one of the very best games I have ever played. Playing New Game+ right now and working towards the other 2 endings.

Superhot - Rather short, but mostly pretty cool FPS puzzler with a whole load of Matrix-feels going for it.

Control
Good game, but needs polish. Frame rate & texture pop in are annoying.
Theres a lot of backtracking, but the fast travel system works well.
Great detail, & powers are fun to use. & great selection of music.
Ending was meh...side quests are fun though.
Fun, interesting game but no GOTY contender imo.

Ghostbusters Remastered
7hours. Yes its short, but its the perfect length.
Game has aged very well, still looks very good. They didn't actually do much to the "remaster".
Best part about the whole game is the actors lending their voices & likeness. This pretty much is Ghostbusters 3.
Game ran fine on PS4 physical. Just let it finish installing before you start.

Metal Gear Solid 3

MGS1 was probably one of my most-played games as a kid. I didn't have a lot of PS1 games, so the games I had I would replay over and over again. And obviously MGS1 is packed full of secrets and easter eggs. But as much as I loved MGS1, I've never played the sequels. So, with Kojima being in the spotlight at the moment, I decided to grab a copy of the remasters and play through them. I chose MGS3 to play first, and wow that game is so good!

The best part about it is how varied the game can be played. Some missions I went super sneaky, taking out the guards and hiding their bodies. But other missions I decided to just pull out my shotgun and rush through the place.

I can't wait to get started on Peace Walker next...

Decided it was time to replay the F.E.A.R. series for Halloween.

F.E.A.R. (plus Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate)

Still a classic that holds up today with its tight focus on stringing together fast, flashy, violent gun battles that'll have you reloading jsut to see if you could do it better or more stylishly. The they have the horror elements that - while a little cheesy at times - are not overdone and often pop up when you least expect it. Extraction Point is a solid expansion that I'd now consider a better conclusion to the franchise. Perseus Mandate just feels tacked on and another super-reflex protagonsit makes no sense.

F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin

This game just feels confused, merging some elements that made F.E.A.R. great, but then butchering the combat encounters while managing to make gunfights and slow-mo look less impressive, despite the upgraded engine. It has some good moments from the mid-point onwards, when you finally get your hands on some more exotic weapons and have upgraded your slow-mo ability to last more than 1.5 seconds, but then ends abruptly. Unfortunately, the combat loop just doesn't work as well against hordes of enemies in open spaces.

F.E.A.R. 3

Objectively, it's a competant co-op FPS with some unique mechanics and a few good scares; however, as a F.E.A.R. game, it's crap, Much like F.E.A.R. 2, the combat encounters continue to ignore what made the first game great, with even more open arenas packed with enemmies to ensure you spend 90% of the fight out of reflex mode (the complete opposite of the original F.E.A.R.). And the difficulty balance is clearly off when played solo. It has a few tense moments that I enjoyed - the 3rd interval set in a massive retail store overrun with insane feral humans was good - but also goes the route of F.E.A.R. 2 by cramming in too many sci-fi elements and locations that ruin the concept of making every day locations terrifying.

If you're gonna play this series - get the PC Platinum Edition or console F.E.A.R. + F.E.A.R. Files and just play the original game and treat the Extraction Point expansion as the ending.

Devil May Cry 5 (PC)

Completed Devil May Cry 5 (PC) last night. I initially didn't care for the game, but after watching a "The Story so Far" video on YouTube, I was reminded of all the great times I've had with the series. DMC5 is phenomenal in every way, and the story is probably the best in the series. To be honest, I'm sad the game is done now.

The Walking Dead Telltale
Finally done with this.
The 4 seasons were good overall, & they ended it on a happy note. Well as happy as TWD universe gets.
Season 1 is still the standout of the lot!
Season 2 was a bit of a let down.
Season 3 changed things up nicely.
& season 4 was close to season 1.
Michonne's very short 3 episodes were also good, not great but good. I did like the whole thing with her daughters.
400 Days was just a break in the main story, but done well.

Death Stranding
34hours.
Just did Sams deliveries, & a handful of standard deliveries.
Game takes a LONG time to get going, but by episode 3 it takes off.
Great story, with one hell of a mind job ending!
Game play wise, it was good. Hardly any inventory management.
There isn't much in the way of combat. DO NOT KILL!! There are consequences for doing so! Take the nonlethal approach.
Its one of those games that you can make difficult for yourself. The game lets you play your style.
If you are like me & just want to experience the story, you can just do Sams deliveries(main quests). Otherwise theres a LOT to do, & will keep you busy for hours, if you so choose.
My GOTY

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
83% complete.
TR mixed with DS, & a great SW story.
Bit buggy, but nothing serious.

Watchmen The End Is Nigh
VERY short.
Part 1 is 6 chapters, & Part 2 is 3 chapters.
You can choose between Rorschach or Nite Owl.
Game still looks good, although its very linear & repetitive.

Death Stranding - Took a while to get into the game but finally did and enjoyed it alot.
LOVE the soundtrack and the whole album.

Started playing Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, I feel like the movement in game is laggy and delayed. Feels like tomb Raider sometimes.

Jedi Fallen Order - the 'Souls-ish mechanics make the opening hours a little dull, degenrating into the usual block-strike/parry-strike/dodge-strike routine but as soon as you've unlocked a few skills and upgrades for Cal, it picks up nicely and the combat became way more enjoyable. The story drags for a bit in the middle but it had a solid conclusion that allows it to be canon, have potential for a sequel, but also not mess with existing lore.

@Cloudis - definitely got strong Tomb Raider vibes in the level design and collectible hunting aspects of the game. Enjoyed the exploration and platforming/puzzling way more than the combat so that was a plus for me.

Dishonored 2 - The first was so good. What happened here? It was a level design, and combat, mess.

Half-Life 2 Plus Episode 1 & 2
Still a great fps, but it is starting to show its age now.
Story, voice acting & level design still all very good.
Controls are a bit clunky, & the driving controls are terrible.
You have to do some platforming, & being a fps it can be a bit frustrating here & there. Especially because you can only jump 2cm off the ground lol
Episode 2 is by far the best, if only they had finished it off with an Episode 3

Portal
Still brilliant, but very short game.
Must still play Portal 2 though.

Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice - Great story and lore destroyed by godawful gameplay and combat. What an absolute chore to get through.
