I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).
I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.
I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I never played the original Disney Infinity, so I'm not sure, but do you think that they will add more secret characters like this as time goes on?
Well it looks like they will be added to the game as an update, which means other characters could be added via DLC at a later stage. With the original Disney Infinity, all characters were listed in the Hall of Heroes from the beginning, it was only the Lightsaber that was a 'secret' per se.
Disney Interactive announced the final two characters for the Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition)line up – Tron's Sam Flynn and Quorra. The characters are now available as digital exclusives for Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition) via the Disney Infinity: Toy Box 2.0 iOS app for $2.99 each, and will be available for PC in March 2015. Both will join all of the previously announced Disney and Marvel characters in the Toy Box mode.
"The iOS version of Disney Infinity has always attracted our largest audience, so we wanted to do something special to celebrate its launch. I can't think of a more appropriate digital exclusive than Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron," said John Vignocchi, Vice President of Production, Disney Infinity.
This does make me a little sad, I was really looking forward to having the figures for these two characters on my shelf.
Hopefully in the near future they will decide to release them as DLC for the console editions.

Because they are not a huge update year on year. Hardware wise and software wise these aren't huge increases in technical specs. I bought the Marvel 2.0 pack and a fair number of figures, I don't want to have to spend more on the base and the base game just to be able to play with SW and Tron characters.
Star Wars will join Disney, Disney•Pixar and Marvel in Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition. The Starter Pack will be available this fall (our spring), and Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition promises to deliver a wider breadth of content and variety of gameplay than ever offered from Disney Infinity, including:
• Three Star Wars Play Sets, one set in the timeline of Episodes I-III, the second set during the original trilogy, Episodes IV-VI, and the third available later this year based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
• Additional Play Sets offering distinct gameplay and environments, including a Disney•Pixar Play Set based on the upcoming film Inside Out, and a Marvel Play Set featuring Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron, and other Marvel characters.
• A fully enhanced Toy Box with two new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games, Toy Box Speedway(kart racing) and Toy Box Takeover (action-adventure).
• More figures of fan-favorite characters from across The Walt Disney Company, like Mickey and Minnie, Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron: Legacy, Mulan and Olaf, among many others.

While I understand exactly where your concern lies, there is no really denying that the whole point of figures for 3.0 are to entice you to buy the newer game. The same applies to Skylanders too. Old figures are compatible going forward but not the other way around. If they were, why even make 3.0 figures?
And from what I have read, 2.0 made noticeable improvements to 1.0, and 3.0 now seems to be an even bigger upgrade over 2.0. It sucks, I know, but that is just how it works. Its not like costume DLC for a game like AC3 works backwards (not the best example, but you get what I mean).
