Venom Film Gets Fifty Shades of Grey Screenwriter
In a rather strange new development on Sony’s Venom film, Fifty Shades of Grey screenwriter Kelly Marcel is currently working on the latest draft script for the upcoming anti-hero flick.
Variety’s Justin Kroll revealed on Twitter that Marcel, who was responsible for penning the script to 2015’s heated sexual thriller/drama, Fifty Shades of Grey, as well as the intriguing Walt Disney biopic, Saving Mr. Banks, will be handling the latest draft of the script for Venom.
Venom is currently set for an October 5, 2018 release, and will star Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, and Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed in unspecified roles. Ahmed is speculated to play Cletus Kasady aka Carnage in the main villain role. The film will be directed by Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer.
