I like Crimson Desert a lot. It amazing, but I put it down because I got tired of the constant almost daily patches. So I'll restart it at some point in the future once the game's development is actually finished.

And I'm not paying the asking price for the DLC. I don't spend more than R180 on any digital game or dlc.

Crimson Desert is a close second, but that Story put me off a bit too much, but Gameplay and Exploration was equally satisfying, cant wait for Charting the Unknown next month

I am excited to see how this story develops. The lore, the world building, the Witcher Come Deliverance (stole this description but its perfect) combat, its just great, what an incredible game.

I even completely stopped playing Onimusha because I just want to do the next quest or explore the world, fantastic game, possibly my favorite so far this year.

I'm not getting Wolverine. I have no interest in Sony's 1st party slop, and even less interest in Marvel slop

But I am enjoying the hell out of Blood Of The Dawnwalker. I'm playing on Duelist difficulty, it's a lot of fun. Challenging but the fights are super fun. Boiling blood is just too OP, even on Duelist

Also, Marvel's Wolverine seems to be doing good on Metacritic, not great, thoughts everyone? I am still looking forward to playing it

Final Fantasy VII Revelation Will Require a Download, Won’t Ship With Full Game on Discs

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is pulling a U-turn on printing the full game on multiple discs like Rebirth. Square Enix confirmed that the anticipated third and final entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project will require a download and it won’t ship with the full game on disc(s). This is disappointing news, especially in light of Sony pulling the trigger on ending physical disc production in a couple of years.

In a new interview with IGN, game director Naoki Hamaguchi defended the decision to avoid printing the full game on discs. Instead, like a Nintendo Switch 2 Game Key cartridge, the disc will ultimately end up being a license check to start downloading the full game. Hamaguchi claimed that the team debated whether it would be possible to ship Final Fantasy VII Revelation without sacrificing “the fidelity and the quality of the game.” Ultimately, the decision was made to ship a disc without the full game on it.

Hamaguchi explained:

“First and foremost, personally, I’m very happy that we are able to release a physical disc version of FFVII Revelation considering how the entire gaming market, or the landscape, is veering towards the disc-less direction. And after we launched preorders, we did see some fans voicing their concerns and raising questions about the physical discs requiring some internet download. So I would like to address that. When we had an internal discussion with the development team about how we wanted to approach the physical discs and the physical releases of FFVII Revelation, initially there were conversations about using the same disc size as we did for, say, FFVII Rebirth. But if we were to do that, it would mean that we would have to make a compromise in terms of the fidelity and the quality of the game. So as a development team, we didn’t want to do that. We didn’t want to make any compromises for the game.”

“So realistically, the only choice that we had was to release this physical disc, but with certain sections of the game being a digital download format through the physical disc,” Hamaguchi added. “With that being said, I completely understand that not all players might be happy with this decision, but at the same time, I am happy that we were still able to release a physical format of the game. So I am quite satisfied with the end results as well. I would hope that our fans and players would be able to share that as well.”

One PS5 disc can hold up to 100GB of data and in the case of Rebirth, it released on two discs (~150GB install size). This makes us wonder just how large Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be to not even print on three discs, though Square Enix might’ve weighed the production costs against it too.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation launches on 8 April 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.

And by "compromise in terms of the fidelity and the quality of the game" they mean "we don't want to pay for and print extra Blu-Ray that must cost less than (US) dollar at this point". It's hard not to feel like the next 2 years are going to be a few smaller devs/pubs pushing complete physical packages as a selling point, while massive devs/pubs set the stage for their removal by making them useless without a download anyway.
