UPDATE 12/07/2020: At the recent Ubisoft Forward digital event, Ubisoft officially revealed Far Cry 6 with an impressive announcement trailer, also confirming all previously leaked reports about the game. The game's central villain will be played by Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito, set in a Latin American fictional country called Yara. Along with the reveal trailer, the release date was confirmed for February 18th, 2020.

ORIGINAL STORY: Far Cry 6 has been leaked ahead of its reveal at the Ubisoft Forward event (highly likely where it would've been revealed) this Sunday. The game has been speculated to star Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito, who plays the shows villain Gus Fring, after he previously revealed that he was working on a big upcoming game. Now, we have confirmation of his involvement in the game as its main antagonist, and we couldn't be more glad. The leak also reveals some key information about the upcoming open world title.

According to Eurogamer, Far Cry 6 appeared on the PlayStation Store accidentally, a little before the Ubisoft Forward event this Sunday where it was likely to be unveiled in an official capacity. The game is currently listed to launch on February 18th, 2021, and will allow players to upgrade from PS4 to PS5 free of charge. The setting of the game will be Yara, a fictional Latin American country heavily inspired by Cuba. We're expecting dense jungles and a tropical climate, similar to the open world of Far Cry 3, it seems. Players assume the role of Dani Rojas, a guerrilla fighter who takes on the dictator of Yara, played by Esposito. If that sounds familiar, it does sound a bit like the plot of Far Cry 4.

Far Cry 6 is described as the "largest Far Cry playground to date", meaning we can expect an absolutely massive map to explore. As mentioned, it will feature jungles and beaches typical of a tropical setting, and also a main city called Esperanza, the capital of Yara. "Employ makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos, the new Fangs for Hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground," the description reads. Since PS4 players will be able to upgrade to PS5 for free, we assume the same will be viable with Xbox One to Xbox Series X. Little else is known, so we'll just have to wait until Sunday, June 12th to catch the Ubisoft Forward event.
