If I can give you some advice. Don’t worry about the time limit. It means nothing in the grand scheme of things. What you can do is, check which ending you want to get and make a hard save before it. Do your ending, reload and just take your time. The timer running out means almost nothing.

Even without doing that, there’s plenty of time in the game to do what you want.

Borderlands 3 is the Longest Borderlands Game to Date

Borderlands 3, and games of its calibre, are no walks in the park. The looter-shooter RPG's by Gearbox Software take up a considerable amount of gameplay time, easily stretching into the dozens of hours marks. We now know that Borderlands 3 will be no different, as the game's length was recently revealed - and as it turns out, it's also the longest Borderlands game to date.

In an interview with VentureBeat, the game's creative director, Paul Sage, talked about the length of the main story. According to Sage, the main story should take players around 35 hours to beat. This is excluding side quests and optional activities in the sprawling open worlds, which now take you to different planets entirely - no longer locked down to Pandora. In comparison (and according to HowLongtoBeat), the first Borderlands game's story took players around 22.5 hours to beat, with Borderlands 2 clocking in at 30.5 hours. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, on the other hand, is the shortest of the bunch, taking only 17.5 hours to beat.

According to Sage, the main story should take players around 35 hours to beat. This is excluding side quests and optional activities in the sprawling open worlds, which now take you to different planets entirely - no longer locked down to Pandora

For completionists, most Borderlands games can last upwards of 80+ hours. This is also taking into consideration the multitude of side quests which can easily encompass several story-driven games on their own. Borderlands 3 is shaping up to be our biggest adventure yet in the series. With the main quest clocking in at 35 hours, there's no telling just how much content will be crammed into the other aspects of the game. I, for one, will be playing Borderlands 3 for months after its launch.
