To possibly quench our thirst for Borderlands 3, 2K has officially announced Borderlands 2 VR, which will be heading to PlayStation VR this December. This version will come with a few new and exciting features.
Borderlands 2 VR will now feature a mechanic that allows you to slow down time for that precise attack (think V.A.T.S. but in Borderlands). The four main classes - consisting of Siren, Commando, Gunzerker and Assassin - will still be there, though their abilities will be adjusted to suit some of the slow motion mechanics. Like most VR shooters, you can opt to use pointed teleportation to travel around, or simply take the more traditional route and use the thumbsticks to move around.
Along with slowing down time and teleporting all over the place, players can now experience driving entirely in first-person. While the main game only offered the option of third-person during its driving segments, the VR version will allow players to get a bit more immersion out of the experience with its first-person perspective. It should also give the game a very unique experience in this view.
Borderlands 2 VR is only confirmed for PlayStation VR so far, though nothing has been mentioned about Oculus Rift or HTC Vive just yet.
