AMD Expects PS5 and Xbox Series Supply Issues Until the Second Half of 2021

@IkariX I recently Played the Final Fantasy 7 original for the first time After playing FF7 Remake Part 1 and I didnt enjoy the original at all,It wasnt as good as FF8. However My Current favorite FF game so far is FF16.I also feel like you cant really compare the original to the remake trilogy untill the trilogy is complete.

I still can't get over what an amazing game Blood Of Dawnwalker was. I feel depressed now after finishing it. Everything is so well done in the game, side quest and all.

I haven't even touched Rebirth yet lol and I really enjoy the Remake stuff, even more so because it's a sequel to the original, but FF has gone downhill overall imo. Trails is my current favourite JRPG series, and it's really not even a close competition.

No one is stopping you from enjoying the FFVII Reamke games. But my point still stands, it's poorly written fanfiction. First time I played Final Fantasy VII was in 1999. Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil 1(I still have both), were my first 2 PlayStation 1 games. So I've played Final Fantasy VII numerous times over the years. What what the Remake games are, are nothing more than imitators.

It's mass market slop at it's finest. Does it make it terrible games? Not at all, Remake Part 1 was fairly decent. But let's not pretend that any of the remake games are as good as the original. I hope Square Enix doesn't touch Final Fantasy VIII. Because they'll ruin that as well.

@phreak - Dont't get me wrong, many fans have valid criticism's with the game and I respect that. And It sucks when a game you're excited for doesn't hit the way you'd hope. I mean as fans we want to enjoy all entries in our favourite franchises.

I feel that as I'm getting older I rather just enjoy games for what they are.

One thing that I am not happy with is that FFVII Revelation will not be fully on disc, even though physical discs are included.

I'm a pretty hardcore FF fan but if you love the Remake series, as I do, you also kind of have to understand that a lot of contentious decisions were made in the story and it's just not gonna land with some people. I totally get why some folks don't like it or agree with the changes.

I do hope however that the announcement of FFXVII is close, feels like the FF fandom needs a new mainline title to reset after the Remake series lol

AMD Expects PS5 and Xbox Series Supply Issues Until the Second Half of 2021

With the launch of both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S last year, supply has been in increasingly high demand for these next-gen consoles. Sony previously warned of supply issues being prominent, but pushed to meet those demands as much as possible. Now it looks like supplier AMD might also expect some supply issues for the consoles until the second half of 2021, at least, meaning it's unlikely they'll be properly stocked in retail stores until then.

According to Video Games Chronicle, supplier AMD, who makes the CPUs and GPUs for the PS5 and Xbox Series, expects there to be supply issues for the first half of 2021. AMD CEO Lisa Su stated that the company expects "some tightness" during the first six months of the year before things are able to pick up in the second half. "So certainly, when I look at the semiconductor environment in 2020 it was very strong. So, we saw a strong revenue ramp in our business as well as across some of our peers," Su said. "It’s fair to say that the overall demand exceeded our planning and as a result, we did have some supply constraints as we ended the year. Those were primarily, I would say, in the PC market, the low end of the PC market and in the gaming markets."

Su continued to assure, "I think we’re getting great support from our manufacturing partners. The industry does need to increase the overall capacity levels and so we do see some tightness through the first half of the year, but there is added capacity in the second half."

As the demand for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S grows higher, it has seen rise to a number of scalper groups who continue to take advantage of the system by hiking resale prices up due to the high demand. It's made worse by the ongoing global pandemic which has considerably slowed manufacturers around the world. If you're planning to get your hands on the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S in the near future, keep in mind that supply might be tight until suppliers pick it up by the second half of 2021.
