A Plague Tale: Innocence is looking great
A Plague Tale: Innocence recently caught my attention at E3 this year. The game, which will be set in France during the Medieval times, is centred around two brothers and their sister. The country, now infested with swarms of killer rats, will be both the player's bane and saviour.
During their presentation, it was stated that the game will balance light and dark in a mechanical way. In the light, players will be save from the swarms of flesh-eating rats but will be exposed to the guards hunting them. in the dark, however, players will be save from the guards but be at risk of being devoured by the rats. The rats can be used in clever ways against the guards, like destroying a guards lantern so the rats can pick him off.
It was also mentioned that the game will not have combat in the traditional sense. There will be no weapons to use, instead, you will have to make clever use of your slingshot and infiltration savvy to complete the game.
The no combat and constant danger from two types of enemies really caught my attention and looks fantastic. The game will be chapter based but each chapter will naturally flow into each other.
There has been no set release date for the game yet but according to the game designer, there is a possibility of the game releasing early next year. Check out the announcement trailer below.
