I shelved Entropy : Zero 2 until I am done with my PC Stellar Blade run.

But in terms of interesting, for the last 1 or two Half Life fans in the audience; I highly recommend checking out Entropy: Zero 2

Completely crazy - I would love to see which countries make up the bulk of those stats...

Also, Stellar Blade peaked at 180k concurrent players yesterday. Pretty damn impressive seeing as Spider-man 2 (which is from a colossal IP) couldn't clock 30k players on Steam release a few months ago.

I am very curious to see the weekend numbers.

@HaseoVII fully agreed. The thing is when you make games to make money you make games like Stellar Blade and Black Myth. The numbers speak for themselves. If you make a game to send a message, you make games like AC Shadows. Concord. Dustborn, Unknown 9, and any other nonsense involved with the likes of Sweet Baby Inc. The numbers never lie...

Wukong (nothing against Astro Bot but Wukong was robbed lol) and Stellar Blade have set the bar. Western devs need to step up.
HaseoVII
12 June at 19:32
Western devs are so afraid of making games that have attractive women, and that aren't inclusive to everyone. This may be a hot take, but I firmly believe that not everything needs to be inclusive. If everything catered to everybody, the world would be an incredibly boring and predicatable place

Afterimage - 67hrs for 100% completion, 10 endings, NG+ this game has it all, amazing for a budget title. Easily one of the best metroidvania games ever. Combat is fast, fluid and fun, exploration and movement are top class as well. Great game, looking forward to seeing what the developers do next.

FF16 - Good game so far but the game lacks any depth, there is no difficulty, combat is simplistic but fun at least. Boss fights are awesome accompanied by cool music full of stylish cutscenes. Money and material system is useless, there is nothing to buy and materials mean nothing because the game gives you better equipment frequently so no real reason to upgrade anything. A discount game for sure but a good mid tier game.

Gal Guardians: Demon Purge - I'm usually up for an Inti Creates platformer but something is off with this one, hasn't managed to grab my attention.

Expanse Telltale Episode 1 - same crappy graphics but small downloads. Same epic gameplay but now with zero gravity. TV show voice cast. Can't believe 32% of people spaced whatshisface.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Just like the last time, I'm getting way distracted with side stuff. Getting tired of the game but I'm only 40% in. Going to try and push the story a bit... if Loadshedding allows

DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT

2nd playthrough.

I'm actually appreciating it far more now than I did during the 1st playthrough. Taking my time to read all of the mails, interviews, etc and really soak up the lore I missed previously. Reckon this playthough will keep me busy for a good while.

I have this loaded up on the PS5. Only got about 2 hours in the first time, and without internet. Going to give it a honest try on the big screen and with online play. Looks friggen AMAZING in 4k

Nice, enjoy!

If it starts to feel repetitive, just sit tight and know that you'll be given some awesome gear for deliveries later on. The game really opens up after a couple hours.

If you get stuck or have any questions feel free to drop me a PM

Fixing to finish up Shadow of the Tomb Raider this weekend.
All in all, the trilogy was great, especially for free with PS Plus.
Does have some stumbling points, and I could write a whole essay on Lara Croft (good and Bad).
Will have to play rock paper scissors to decide what to play next though... Was going to do Death's door, but it's leaving Ps Plus

Started Like a Dragon. Good choice, so far it's hella fun. (I forgot how slow these games where. So much story)
Only complaint is that the game does not translate signs and ingame text. Feel I lose out on some information there

Yeah, I like to start grinding early with these games, but they open up sooo slowly. You can't get to the good stuff until later.

Like a dragon just started letting me summon diaper wearing Yakuza to fights. Then I had to fight of sleep sheep and co... roosters in a cinema.

DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT(PS5)
Still taking my time with this second playthough.
I'm over halfway in the story and things are now picking up quite a bit.
The story makes far more sense now that I'm picking up on details I'd previously missed, but whether that story ends up being good and satisfying remains to be seen...

STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC (PC/GOG)
Now, I'm not really playing this (yet!) as it's lined up for after D.S.,
but bought it deeply discounted and decided to dabble a little.
Created my blaster-wielding Scout and played the first mission.
I'm sold already. Game's got a huge amount of promise, and I think it'll be a ride worth taking.

Bloodstained ritual of the night
GRRRrrrrrRRRRRrrrrr
Game is fun but old-school cheap sometimes. The gameplay loop really forces you to go back to town and stock up on healing, or visit healing couches all the time. The lack of auto saves had me mentally throwing my controller.

Waiting for the October PSN games to drop so I can jam Calisto Protocol

RESIDENT EVIL 4 (2023) (PS5)

Halfway through. Enjoying it thus far.

I went in thinking it was merely going to be a by-the-books, 1:1 reskin of a classic, but CAPCOM went and did such much needed refining and overhauling to the gameplay and exploration.

Gorgeous graphics, great blend of action and horror, and stands apart from the original.
No better way to begin Spooktober!

MAX PAYNE (PS2)

Playing this between RE4 sessions and wow, now this goes down smooth. Well, except for the nightmare sections, which are thankfully few and far between. Absolutely FUBAR.

RE4 (2023) is sneaky in how the first act sticks close to the original, while the second and third acts deviate heavily. A great remake but just like RE2R, it doesn't completely replace the original for me as I enjoy its quirkier tone.

I'd strongly recommend picking the Separate Ways DLC though, as that massively improves upon the original and it includes a lot of scenarios removed from Leon's remade campaign.

Enjoyed RE4 Remake, but it really started to drag towards the end.

A couple of very annoying fights/encounters that feel cheap or at least like the encounter was made to go a certain way and if you deviate, you just die. Still fun tho

Have felt this with most Resi games, tbh.

Well except Village, because it was quite short.

Started Callisto protocal...
Hey! let's make Dead space without letting them sue us!
Yeah I know it's the spiritual successor.
Problem is, since I replayed Dead space one a few months back, this feels VERY familiar. I predicted the jump scares 9 times out of 10.
Good graphics, with some weird light effects. Lots of flickering.
Encounters seem to go without a hitch, or you get steamrolled. A generous autosave stops it from getting to cheap.

Considering it's for "free" on PS plus, it's well worth the play, but it just isn't as creepy and cheek clenching as Dead space

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay - Still great, more linear than I remember, and surprisingly unforgiving. Been so long that it's almost like replaying it for the first time.

With the X360 storefront shutting down next year, picked up an X360E model to replace my creaky Xbox 360 Arcade survivor and checked if there were any not back-compat games I still needed to pick up a physical copy, A lot of PC ports from that era can be found on GOG/Steam, but often without decent gamepad support for playing on the couch.

Look, I generally don't do well with horror games, and so far I've been...handling RESI 4 Remake (as it's more of an action game) but there's this upcoming section which might be the final nail in this playthough's coffin.

Would be a shame, because I think I'm quite near the end.

Sigh

Time to turn down the volume and max the brightness I guess!

LOL.

The part I'm referring to involves (spoilers) the freezer section on the island... It's waaaaay scarier in the remake, imo.

Oh Ja. I played the game slow and was super strong by this point, so anything that twitched wrong got the business end of my OP Shotgun.

What do you think of the crossbow? Felt it was very pointless myself

The bolt thrower? On its own, it's weak sauce deluxe. Takes ages to reload and fire.

Love the attachable mines though. Definitely got me out of a few hairy moments when I lacked grenades.

Got a bit further in Callisto Protocol. Think I'm about 40% in.
Slight spoilers... maybe?

New area has "the blind enemies". Thought this would make a big shift in how you play, the game even warns you that they react to sound!
What they DON'T react to:
Me sneak past
Me shanking their buddies right next to them
Me force throwing their buddies into spikes
Me jumping up and down on their buddies to make them drop loot.

I did die a few times, but only because I was trying to add maximum disrespect to my kills.

This game really has a few odd choices and... glitches? design choices?
The lack of a map is very annoying

Nice to know it's still partially broken almost a year on and 1 DLC later. Are the checkpoints still rubbish? I remember several of them triggering as I entered an area to restock before a boss/horde encounter, rather than just before said boss/horde, so that I could enjoy collecting supplies over and over again when I died!

The thing to remember is that despite having Glen Schofield of Dead Space fame at its head, they really really wanted to lean into the cinematic design like The Last of Us instead. You don't really need a map as the handful of significant side paths just lead to secret audio-logs and some upgrade material, and you'll eventually be funneled to the next cutscene/crawl space transition you can't go back from.

I'm just wondering if the wrench combat is still broken.

Called it quits after several hours of not being able to dodge enemies, like, at all.

I think the combat is better. Had a few glitches, but overall it works. Not being able to do a jump dodge blows though. Some attacks seem undodgeable. At the moment I am swimming in ammo though, so it's less of an issue. My Jedi powers are also more fun once you upgrade

The side areas are actually rather big. You can wander of for 4-6 interconnected rooms, just to realize you are going the scenic route. It's only an issue because I WANT to explore and it's difficult to judge where the "correct" path is

Like I said, it's fun enough for a free game, but I will probably start aiming for the end. Arkham knights is calling

Lies of P is getting way more attention than I anticipated and without a negative onset thereto have I remind you.

It is so rich and vibrant that the amount of deaths counting against my character, or rather build, is a non-event that usually frustrates me. The random difficulty spikes and very unpredictable move sets from enemies, I still don’t have the perfect guard down, is refreshing in the sense of not having you ball through the game and story progression thus making you to be aware of your surroundings.

I hope a DLC will come into play.

Finished Cailisto Protocol. Yeah... fine while free but won't bother again, even the dlc is not worth it

Started Nier Replicant again. Runs very well on Ps5, but then I ran into the old school save system. Not sure if I will carry on, just to easy to lose progress.

Weird West. It's... ok. Very good idea, but I'm struggling with the interface a bit. Might be better on Pc.

I love Weird West's art style, and how reactive/dynamic the world feels.

Combat's just a bit fiddly, like my pastor.
