@phreak very excited for Resonance, the demo was amazing. I played FFBE for yeeears. I think we even spoke about it at one point. Can’t wait to play a game with these characters again.

Silent Hill is my current GOTY but this could overtake it.

@Phreak

I literally can't wait to play FF Resonance, it's going to be amazing.

But I am also looking forward to experiencing Tales Of Eternia for the first time.

@BigBobby - We do list nearly our entire catalogue online as live inventory. If you can recall which title(s) you saw instore you can find online - please let me know and I will check if perhaps they are delisted for a reason. (Sometimes its to prevent scalpers buying up niche stuff we keep for our clients)

Captain America: Civil War - Really enjoyed this movie, was a lot of fun. Not a huge fan of the Cap himself though, he's a bit of a boring character.

Cloverfield – For the first time. I avoided it for 8 years because even the concept of found footage is repulsive. However, this movie is made really quite well. Often you find yourself asking "why would someone be carrying a video camera with them during this?". But at least they tried to answer that a little bit, even though it's still slightly incoherent.

Spoilers
Movies where everybody dies can be a hit or miss, but this did it quite well. I honestly think the movie should have been mixed format, especially after the subway bit. There's no way I'm lugging a camera with me while heading towards certain death. Who thinks of taking the camera but not even picking up a large stick to fend off the things that make you explode after one bite?

10 Cloverfield Lane – Really very good. Mary Elizabeth Winstead can do no wrong in my eyes. John Goodman was superb. Random other actor was fine too. Not found footage or shaky cam, big plus
Spoilers
They say it's a "blood-relative" to Colverfield, but I'm not so sure. The first one was a Kaiju attack, while this one was a full-scale alien invasion and extermination attempt. The whole movie you're waiting for the large rumble of a massive creature crawling above, or to hear about a kaiju infestation or something. Maybe this is part of what makes the human drama so good, you feel you know more about what's happening than the characters for most of the movie, then they slap you back on your bum with that last scene.

Captain America: Civil War – It was so totally an Avengers movie. I feel I'm getting slightly tired of Avengers movies.

Spiderman was the reason I watched this, and even though he got less screen time than the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, I enjoyed every second of it.

The rest was fine too.

And so the movie binge continues with Leon the Professional – What a great movie with Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, and Natalie Portman. Also inspired Alt-J's Matilda.

10 Cloverfield Lane
I enjoyed this a lot. Wasn’t sure what to expect since I read that it wasn’t similar to Cloverfield (which I did like a lot).

I agree with most of this except [Spoilers...] I almost completely forgot about the “aliens” half-way through the movie as the human story was so engrossing. For most of the movie I was not sure if the threat was even real. Although Emmet (the other random guy) collaborated Howards story I was never 100% sure if Michelle should trust him.

Suffragette
Another good movie. It focuses on the Suffrage (Votes for women) movement in Britain as told by one of the members and makes reference to real events that took place relating to it. It really makes one realise how far equal rights have come in such a short time (the film is set just over hundred years ago) and the sacrifices women made their rights. The topic of equal rights is a hot one these days, but I felt this film added to the conversation as I have not seen many films deal with it from this era.

London has Fallen - Feels more like a movie that got made for the sake of being made. I enjoyed the first movie far more but this was ok, wouldn't watch again but worth a watch at least.

Spoilericious
That uncertainty of whether to believe Howard or not was made more intense by the fact that the whole time I had Colverfield's monster in the back of my mind. But you're right in that, at one point, I was heavily doubting this was related at all. It's seriously a masterful story. You don't know which way is up, you don't know who to trust, and once you settle into a theory or trusting a character, it's ripped away from you.

Fantastic Flop (2015) – Regrets, I have a few. This is one.

I can't believe the director believes that A), anyone will let them make a sequel, and that any sequel will redeem this mess. Reboot the reboot, or leave Fantastic Four out of the Cinematic universe (which would be a shame). The first attempt with Jessica Alba was a flop, but not this hard, and at least captured a little bit of the spirit of FF. This was utter emo crap. !sick !sick

The 5th Wave – It was like a teenage drama with a side of the end of the world. The end of the world bit took too much of a back seat, and an incoherent idea was made worse by teenie hormones.

Carrie – What is this, Chloe Grace Moretz week?
It was okay. Julianne Moore pulls off insane mother all too well, and Chloe etc etc is okay too. Even though it's based on a Stephen King book, it feels like this is just a blood-bath fantasy fresh from the daydreams of a victim of bullying.

Hateful 8 - I really enjoyed this, more than the last two QT films. Great soundtrack too. Looking forward to his next Western.

Sisters - was OK, would have made a great TV episode (~40 minutes). Dianne Wiest (their mother) was great though.

Finally watched TFA. I wouldn't exactly go as far as saying that it lived up to its hype, but it was really worth a watch

X-men Apocalypse - yeah this was pretty crap, boring fights and boring display of powers, the only person with any real display was Quicksilver. The rest were like little fire crackers, a little bang and it's done.

Macbeth, a gripping piece almost 2 hours long with dialogue taken directly from Shakespeare's piece. This is the most accurate and well shot film adaption of any of the great bards play's I have ever seen. Highly recommended. Even for those who dont fancy the old english. Brilliant stuff.

X-Men: Apocalypse – It wasn't terrible. I enjoyed it, and it's X-men, so difficult for me to hate them.

My main issue in Apocalypse is with the timeline. First Class was 1963, then Days of Future Past was 1973, then this was 1983. Are you telling me that every single one of the kids from First Class still looks like someone who is barely out of university after 20 years? 20 years is a life time, Prof and Megneto should be late 40s or eary 50s. The kids from first class should be early 40s or late 30s. Whoever wrote this, then made this, has no idea about how time works. Both this and Days of Future Past should have been set earlier, or First Class should have been later. You can't even fix or dismiss it easily, because each latches on to a correlating real-world historical event or person. < /rant >

Although... I must say, getting real tired of super hero movies in general right now. The constant, "intense" drama surrounding an end-of-the-world scenario is starting to lose its meaning.

Civil War again – next to GotG the best Marvel movie… Now this make me think…what will happen next to Cap?

According to the comic book version of Civil War, Cap died… now not in the movie, so it will be interesting to see what the MCU will do to him.

What I notice from the upcoming Marvel movies, more focus will be placed on the arrival of Thanos…however , Doctor Strange is still a bit of a curve ball to me… how will he fit into the entire Infinity Gauntlet story and we already started to experience “magic” with Wanda.

So I am really looking forward to GOTG Vol 2 and Ms./Captain Marvel
