I am not phased about the ps3 stuff I am talking ps1 and ps2 here.

I am running a X86cpu 3.2ghz quad core with 8gig of ram and a 1gig 512bit interface radeon video card.

PS1 I can emulate any game I have tried properly and even improve how it looks via shaders and numerous other plug ins.

Ps2 I have emulated virtually all games with out a problem save for some cut scenes, the same actually goes for my Wii.

All this emulation software made by third party people most of them collage students or even younger with out access to all sonys coding after the year.

And people want to tell me a machine that powerful could not open up a separate app and run at least ps1 and ps2 games under emulation with out massive problems?

Yeah I am sorry, I'm calling [censored] on that. PS3 emulation I can agree with no problems given that the machine itself is still a power house, but when I have seen a mid range pc by todays specs running ps1 & ps2 games with out problems yeah.

The other option is that when this Gakai service comes into play they see all the digital content you already have and you dont pay for it again, but the likely hood of that happening is next to nothing.

Yes you want the ps4 for ps4 games, but to be quite honest some of the most fun I have had this generation has been replaying my old ps1 games that I have downloaded digitally.

There has really been so pathetically[censored] all with games this generation that has really stuck with me. To be honest the only four games that have really stuck in my mind are Valkyria Chronicles, Tales Of Vesperia, Xenoblade chronicles and The Last Story.

So now having to go and buy all these ps1 titles and ps2 titles again is beyond annoying especially when there is no longer any form of resale value available.

I have no intention of selling my ps3 under this case but my ps3 is now old and one day is probably going to go on me some day soon.

I just find it ridiculous that we are going down the road of you want to play something you bought your going to need to have to keep every console you over own or a stupid amount of money to rebuy everything.

On PS1 and PS2 games I agree with you, I was referring to PS3 emulation and for the PS3 PSN titles. TBH if Sony don't emulate I can do with my HTPC that I built to be a gaming rig. I run MAME on that already and will just as easily run the PS1 and PS2 emus if I need to.

I'm not sure how they expect all game on the Ps4 to run on the Vita...
The Ps4 is surely way more powerful than Vita? Will it just stream a "low-res" version to the vita while you are in the house or what?

What about if the Ps4 uses motion, camera controls?

It will stream to you psvita, Iv controlled on my ps3 with my psp over the net lol, couldn't play games but the xmb was identical.

So will probably just stream the video much like the Wii U streams to its tablet.

As for the move stuff most of the games will probably have a support mode for vita lets you use the back cameras or something

I am assuming that it will work like the WiiU i.e. it will stream the games so all the processing power takes place on the PS4. With the processing power of the Vita, maybe some stuff can be processed on teh Vita reducing load times and other issues that the WiiU may have. All in all, if I can play some of my PS4 games when I am on my throne through the Vita I will be very happy

Interesting notes:
DS4 Lightbar will be used for player tracking. It will help aid face recognition and head tracking of players. This will help auto arrange split-screen gaming if players move around, to elements including characters directly looking at certain players in the room to address them.

There is reduced dead zone on the analogs, and latency has improved on the buttons. The buttons are now digital and no longer analog. The two triggers will be analog.

The touch pad is a button, and uses 2 point touch tech. 1920x900 resolution input.

Controllers can charge when PS4 is on standby.

PS4 Eye can be used for 'HD wide-angle video, face detection/identification, head and hand detection/tracking, player segmentation, PS Move and marker tracking, and speech recognition'

Remote play requires no extra game resources to work. It can be done instantly at any time without the need to access a special mode, and the PS4 and PSV can output the same screen at the same time without hassle.

PS4 supports multi-user login.

Primal Carnage: Genesis is a current PS4 project. It involves dinosaurs and will be a SP episodic experience.
APB Vendetta is under development for PC. Will be ported to PS4 at a later stage.

It seems like some care did go into improving the controller. Whether the lightbar and touchpad will actually be useful, remains to be seen for now.

Also, Uk newspaper suggests that PS4 may indeed launch in EU this year.

and I have a funny feeling that PTO2 will come to PS4. The PC release in English got delayed, and PS4 is easy to develop for. Would be nice if your profile syncs with the PSv version, if it does come of course.

I know there is cross play between PSV PTO2 and PC PT02 so I can see them doing that, and your right with it being on PSV it could be a very good sign its coming to PS4.

Which will make me happy, Interesting to see more MMO's taking up on consoles lately though considering its always been primarily a pc thing.
