While we anxiously wait for Borderlands 3 in September (also, how amazing is that box art), we can always dive back into the previous three games. Now is as good a time as ever, seeing as Gearbox released some sweet "upgrade" for them.
The first Borderlands game received a visual upgrade, a minimap that can be toggled, all previously released DLC, new character customization heads, and a revamp inventory system. I played about an hour of Borderlands this morning with the patch installed, and I have to admit, the game does feel slightly better than it did before. If you own the base game of Borderlands on PC, you will receive all these extras at no extra cost. Do note that I was prompted to download the game from scratch (about 12GB), even though I had the game installed in my library.
Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel also got some love. These two games received the Ultra HD texture packs, updating them for 4K gaming. Players playing on lower resolutions will also benefit from the texture packs with sharper, cleaner, and crisper graphics. Again, I was prompted to download the entire Borderlands 2 game (roughly 9GB including texture pack), even though I had it installed on my system.
Are you going to play through the Borderlands games in anticipation of Borderlands 3? Let us know in the comment section below.
