Sony's Developing Half a Dozen Spider-Man Related TV Shows

I still can't get over what an amazing game Blood Of Dawnwalker was. I feel depressed now after finishing it. Everything is so well done in the game, side quest and all.

I haven't even touched Rebirth yet lol and I really enjoy the Remake stuff, even more so because it's a sequel to the original, but FF has gone downhill overall imo. Trails is my current favourite JRPG series, and it's really not even a close competition.

No one is stopping you from enjoying the FFVII Reamke games. But my point still stands, it's poorly written fanfiction. First time I played Final Fantasy VII was in 1999. Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil 1(I still have both), were my first 2 PlayStation 1 games. So I've played Final Fantasy VII numerous times over the years. What what the Remake games are, are nothing more than imitators.

It's mass market slop at it's finest. Does it make it terrible games? Not at all, Remake Part 1 was fairly decent. But let's not pretend that any of the remake games are as good as the original. I hope Square Enix doesn't touch Final Fantasy VIII. Because they'll ruin that as well.

@phreak - Dont't get me wrong, many fans have valid criticism's with the game and I respect that. And It sucks when a game you're excited for doesn't hit the way you'd hope. I mean as fans we want to enjoy all entries in our favourite franchises.

I feel that as I'm getting older I rather just enjoy games for what they are.

One thing that I am not happy with is that FFVII Revelation will not be fully on disc, even though physical discs are included.

I'm a pretty hardcore FF fan but if you love the Remake series, as I do, you also kind of have to understand that a lot of contentious decisions were made in the story and it's just not gonna land with some people. I totally get why some folks don't like it or agree with the changes.

I do hope however that the announcement of FFXVII is close, feels like the FF fandom needs a new mainline title to reset after the Remake series lol

@phreak - that I understand. Rabid defenders are rarely better than those that hate on a game. If you like a game or series, it makes sense you want to discuss what it could have done better or where it might go in the future.

Think people have become to comfortable with giving simplistic aggressive responses, attaching a strong emotion to it as justification, then calling it a day.

Sony's Developing Half a Dozen Spider-Man Related TV Shows

To say fans were upset at Spider-Man's departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following a fall out with Sony and Disney, would be an understatement. The backlash received was tremendous, directed at both Sony and Disney for the business-driven decision to part ways, thus removing Spider-Man from Disney's deal and veering back in the hands of Sony. It seems like Sony has some big plans for Tom Holland's Spider-Man, excluding the fact that he'll be joining the Venom universe. They're apparently developing about 5-6 TV shows set within the Spider-Man universe.

In an interview with Variety, Sony Pictures chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra confirmed that the studio was working on "five or six" TV series set within the Spider-Man universe. He didn't provide any further details, but more news is expected to roll out regarding the nature of these shows and exactly who will be the main focus of each.

Perhaps following in the footsteps of Disney+, which has a plethora of its own MCU-related shows underway, Sony might be trying to capitalize on the same trend. Spider-Man's hype has still not died out yet, as Sony ensured the success two heavy-hitting Spider-Man properties in 2018 - the Oscar-winning animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and the PS4 exclusive Marvel's Spider-Man. The webslinger craze is going to be further developed into television shows, it seems, and it's possible we might get shows revolving around villains or side characters from the Spidey universe.
