Mass Effect Trilogy HD Remaster Possibly in Development
BioWare have been mostly quiet in the gaming industry lately, choosing to bow their heads following the disappointing launch of Anthem last year. However, while the acclaimed developer is hard at work on Dragon Age 4, new rumours have sprung up again surrounding the existence of a Mass Effect Trilogy HD remaster. This latest rumour is perhaps our best lead yet, coming from a somewhat reputable source.

According to VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb, EA's recent financial call lists one "HD remaster" yet to be announced, which Grubb firmly stated in an article is the long-awaited Mass Effect Trilogy. Unfortunately, without any evidence to back him up, we've had to treat this as a rumour for the time being. It's possible that EA is saving the big announcement for their upcoming EA Play digital event, which has been announced to take place on June 11th this year, filling in their usual E3 annual block.
It's also possible that EA will want to pull the trigger early and instead announce the Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster at today's Inside Xbox event, which is said to host a number of third-party titles all running on Xbox Series X. A proper remaster would no doubt look fantastic running on next-gen hardware, which could increase its appeal. This is all just speculation until we get a confirmation from EA themselves, though, so take all of this information with a grain of salt for now.
