Horizon Zero Dawn: PC Versus PS4 Pro Early Graphics Comparison
Horizon Zero Dawn, Guerrilla Games' critically acclaimed 2017 open world title, is finally coming to PC after a few years as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Many expect this to be the first of a wave of PS4 exclusives that will eventually find their way to PC, but this is a good first step forward for expanding the player base. With the PC release date set for August 7th, it was inevitable before a comparison video was made for the newly released PC trailer and PS4 Pro footage.

The comparison video comes to us from YouTuber Cycu1, who takes the most recent PC trailer for Horizon Zero Dawn and makes the appropriate comparisons to the final game on PS4 Pro. In some cases, we get a good understanding of the little updates thanks to wipes and side-by-side scene comparisons. However, the kicker here is that the PC trailer was recorded at the original preset - getting it as close to PS4's settings as possible - and not at ultra. This means that this shouldn't be taken as a direct feed comparison between both platforms (at least not at their highest qualities), but rather an early graphics comparison. Nonetheless, Cycu1 has a good track record of providing updates, so we'll await the direct comparisons once the PC version becomes fully available or a better trailer arrives more accurately reflecting its max PC settings.
Horizon Zero Dawn previously released in March 2017 to critical acclaim, with many citing it as one of the best PS4 exclusives. Rumours began earlier this year about Horizon finding its way to PC, leading to reliable insiders also reporting on them. Sony finally announced that the game would be coming to PC on August 7th, with pre-orders already flying open on Steam. The comparison video above might not be the most accurate as representing the final PC version on ultra settings, but it does offer us a look at the fidelity of the PS4 Pro version (which is quite high-quality) as a good indicator of where PC settings could exceed it. We can't wait to see how stunning the game will look running PC next month.
