since it's compatable with the older Wii games, you can also play the games from that library too if you want, and many places still have Wii games for cheap (including AWX).
and if you dont mind eventually having less decent games than the other two consoles

but for Wii U, I can only recommend these games for now:
The Wonderful 101: awesome squad-commanding game that requires skill, and can be difficult
New Super Mario U (or Luigi U): if you've played the previous (new super mario) games, you're not missimg much by not playing this. but can provide a decent challenge later on
Super Mario 3D World: fun to play with others, but single player can be easy (that's if you don't count the later levels)
Pikmin 3: another great game has you commanding small aliens so gather food on their planet, and to make sure it doesn't run out.
Nintendoland: also a great game to play with friends, and makes use of all the things the Wii U has through mini games. can be addicting.
Zombi U: though some people might say it's not good, it's actually a decent survival horror.
The Legend of Zelda - Windwaker HD: this is a hd remake of a classic gamecube game, and one of the best in the series

^yeah, wont work at all under Wii mode.

since wii mode is " class="general_link" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" >literally just switching to the wii interface to play games, so it can only support the controllers that the wii can support. you also can't use the gamepad with it, even though you can have off-tv play (and the gamepad itself has the sensor bars for wiimotes)

Capcom are bringing fifteen games to the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U’s Virtual Console services, spanning a number of NES, SNES and Game Boy Advance titles. These games will be released in both North America and Europe later this year.

T0 those WiiU owners out there, I have 3 questions regarding the console

1. How is the Wii Emulation, Good? Bad?

2.External Storage and Hard Drive Space, any issues, hints and tips?

3. How is the WiiU's Eshop? Similair to the 3DS? (I know that games are linked to the console like the 3ds, but not much else)

I wanna get a WiiU soon, just want to hear some first hand accounts etc

1. Wii Emulation is awesome. You need the sensor bar set up and you can only play it with a Wii compatible peripherals so the actually tablet controller wont work.

I think the pro pad works though.

Games how ever look absolutely stunning up-scaled and run flawlessly.

2: Storage wise I have a 30gig Wii U that havent used up all the space yet so dunno with the external, shouldnt be an issue though. I used to run games off usb on my Wii so don't see why the games would run worse on a Wii u.

3. Dont know what it looks like on the 3DS but the Eshop on Wii U is pretty decent. Simple layout and search function and downloads fairly quickly.

Honestly I love the little console, just a pity needing to wait for games but when I do get a chance to play on it absolutely adore using that console. Imo of all the current gen consoles it's the must own one.

Thanks a bunch...yeah I feel the same...I have a lot of Wii games that I have yet to finish, plus Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors and Smash Bros ought to keep me busy for a while.

Apparently External Hard Drives do work, you will just need one that has an external power source (Haven't seen one of those in ages) Flash Drives work fine though...

Look for the 3.5 inch drives, most of them still need a power adapter.

I have used the Wii emulator and it is perfect, no issues at all. The shop is nice and simple, hate the locking to console instead of account thing though, but then again no console of mine has gone [censored] up so I may just hate for the sake of hating. I want to use a 2.5" drive, but so far I haven't had space issues so haven't tested it out.

Just get a 128gb flash drive and you should be sorted.

Love how Wii games look on Wii U, Muramasa looks great and the Metroid Trilogy is amazing upscaled, Tatsunoko VS Capcom also looks far far better than it does on Wii. The HDMI and upscale combination works great.

you guys, question:

can I transfer save data from the wii to the wiiu and save data only?
