Slightly disagree with Kylo, movie is probably an 8.5 for me. It is no Empire but as good as Star Wars and better than Jedi.

I have over 60 Star Wars EU novels. And most of them tell a way better story than Force Awakens did

Good to hear it's not a repeat of the prequel debacle.

Film's good guys, no sign of lens flare or any odd Phantom Menace type idiocy. JJ did a good job. SFX are great, there is humour, lots of it but not out of place and the actors actually have chemistry. I have some small nits with the story, but will wait for a few days and see if I still feel that way after the second and third viewing

If anyone was on the fence afraid of a Disneyfied or even a prequel type film, you have zero to worry about.

I agree...this movie felt epic, like the LotR...

Just those shockers...never say them coming...

Was a awesome movie

The movie was really well done...none of the Clone wars stuff...

I spotted 3 Avengers in the movie...Hulk , Thor and Cap...in cameo rolls

It was watchable because it didn't feel like a Star Wars movie. Easily the best movie of all of them but Kylo Ren is such a terrible terrible character. Here is hoping something happens to his character in the next movie because damn what a total bitch. Was the worst part of the movie by far. Storm Troopers had more screen presence than that guy.

I absolutely loved it. Contrary to what DP is saying it actually DID feel like a Star Wars movie which is why it was so damn good. You can tell that every person working on it loves the original movies. I felt like I was 6 years old again, discovering Star Wars for the first time.

Seeing it again tonight 9/10

If he is in it he's under prosthetics and makeup like Simon Pegg.

I did but I didn't notice him at all, which part of the film is he in? If you are thinking the X-Wing pilot that's Greg Grunberg from Heroes and he was the pilot in the pilot of Lost. That guy often has cameos in JJ's films as they worked together on Felicity.

When they are in the command center looking at a way to blow up the weapon planet thing, Smith is one of the guys there that has a couple lines while they are looking at the map and finding weak points and how to enter.

Yeah that's Greg Grunberg he does look a lot like Smith. I know that Smith is a friend of JJ Abram's and he visited the set and saw the film about three weeks ago, but don't think he had a role.

Here's his pic and an article with some spoilers describing his role.

Wish the movie had more of a story though. Any film in the original trilogy comes across as its own thing. Whereas everything in this one seems to set up stuff to happen in other films similar to what superhero films do...so yeah, 6/10 for me
