@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.
DarkwingDuck

For niche titles it's okay. Problem is I play mainly bigger titles. Games are expensive enough as is. If I can save 50 bucks, use my ebucks (which some retailers allow) then I'm definitely going with another retailer.

Basically if I have to choose between paying delivery or not I'm going to go for not paying for delivery. On top of that, I find my Nexus orders are usually delayed. I don't think I've ever received a game on release day which is annoying when you're paying extra for delivery especially. And often you have to ask where it is which I don't think the customer should have to do, that's part of customer service.

I got it on PS3. So far im enjoying it. Really like the quality of cut scenes and etc. So far my only issue is that I can drive through 100 lamp posts, concrete barriers and smash into other cars during a high-speed chase, my vehicle doesnt show any damage whatsoever. I only know the vehicles about to explode when flames start appearing... I mean really...they removed damage visuals on cars for the PS3 version??

I've been obsessed with this game since it was announced. The hype died for me but I decided to get it anyway and I'm rather underwhelmed...

Still a lot of fun, lots to do,love love love the hacking!

Got it on PS4 as a birthday pressie (thanks for suggesting it to my mates AWX!) and played about 4 hours last night, clearing 4 missions and I tried most side activities I could unlock.

As Orion475 mentioned, the insane amount of hype was a stupid decision for an unestablished IP. The game is great from a gameplay perspective but it's nothing revolutionary and so far the graphics, even on PS4, are only good (but have nothing in Infamous: Second Sun) and hacking mechanics are entertaining but simple and unremarkable in implementation.

That said, the game still plays really well and their representation of Chicago is a joy to explore. The ability to interact with just about anyone and everything through "The Profiler" phone the main character uses ensures no area feels empty, however the caveat is the game follows the usual Ubisoft open-world bloat-approach by ensuring there's always something to do aside from the main plot. As someone who love's narrative driven games but has elements of OCD, it can get infuriating when you can't drive 100m without triggering a side activity. I'm personally gonna stick to following the main plot and major sidequests rather than try 100% (an approach that made GTA V so much more enjoyable).

For those that simply love exploring (and trying to break) open-world environments, the game is packed with content that should keep you going for ages. Most of the optional content comes with a well represented perk tree that rewards completion (and also indicates progress to unlocking trophies/achievements).

What really draws me to the game is the elements of stealth that can be used with most missions/activities so far. LIke GTA IVs supposedly remorseful Niko Bellic, the vigilante role clashes with the way the game allows you to progress by 1) committing cyber crime while stopping physical crime, 2) shooting guards and cops during missions when you're in theory aiming for the corrupt top officials. Unlike GTA, interacting down the barrel of a gun is not the only choice and you have a much greater range of interactions.

In my game so far I've killed one civilian (thanks to being rammed by a cop) and 2 gang members (testing the efficiency of exploding circuit boxes. The rest of the time, a stealth takedown from behind give you a non-lethal option and in the first mission to hack a cTos data centre, I simply used camera hacking (and a guard carrying a personal camera) to access and hack the the system without ever leaving the car I was parked in outside. It provides a brilliant alternative for those role-playing a decent character and I only hope those options remain going forward.

I'd say from my short playthrough, it's going to be a solid 8/10 game with great mechanics but failing to live up to some of the promises and hype.

This. I can play the game on High. I even boosted it to ultra, with no real difference.
From all the hype I was expecting to be blow away, or end up playing till 3am. Instead I read my book and watched some anime.

It's NOT A BAD GAME, in fact it is GOOD to Very Good... but it's not Special. I will probably invest some hours into it, but I'm not expecting to rave about it here...

I've had a quick whiz around Chicago (edit), no time at the moment for either this or Wolfenstein. That after two months of waiting to play something - typical. It's very good so far but it reminds me of the hype of first AssCreed. The true potential of this franchise will probably arrive in the next game.

I think the car damage models have been downgraded on the PS3 and Xbx 360 versions part of them being able to keep the AI and other factors dynamic.

Think I'll wait for a price drop before I get this. I do find what Lurch did (by sitting in a car and hacking something) pretty cool and amusing...sounds like you can do some clever stuff in this game if you put your mind to it?

yes and no. Unfortunately "Hacking" is really pointing at objects and pressing X.
They could have done the same by giving you electric powers, or a cyborg brain...
I think a person with patients will find some fun ways to complete missions, but you have to be willing to roleplay the part

Understandable...but for a game that's been in development for so long...eish its a little unappealing.

This game was first announced for I suppose you can now say older gen consoles but when the PS3 got a new sibling, the parents gave all their attention to the newborn and the poor 8 year older sibling got sort of shoved to the side...

Don't get me wrong, im not hating on the PS4 - I cannot wait to get one.
But don't downgrade certain aspects of a game just because your adding new and improved dynamics. If you can make it so dynamic in the first place, things like vehicle damage visuals that is present in older games, should not have been affected. Get the normal, typical "open-world game" stuff sorted out, then focus on implementing dynamism. Just my opinion.

This is something that's been brought up with Wolfenstein as well (and I guess will be the same for many releases this year). Some cross-gen games actually come off worse on last-gen than those that preceded them, even at a time when you'd think developers would have the best grasp on old engines.

I understand the need to produce software at an expected quality for the current-gen consoles, but surely there's plenty post-processing touches you can add to an already well designed last-gen game? There's an install base of maybe 12+ million PS4s/Xbones (I can't find the article but it was about 7 million PS4s vs 5 million Xbones in April), whereas there's over 150 million combined Xbox360/PS3 consoles (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-01-09-idc-game-consoles-discs-to-remain-revenue-mainstays-for-years-to-come).

@ Orion - I agree, I'm sure if enough people complain maybe they can path it in or something. Although considering how the game looks on PS3 especially the in door sections, I must say they did an amazing job

LOL maybe ill be one of the few...but alas I agree with you in other areas the game looks great. I'm never one to be bothered by graphics, but this is the first time I feel like throwing my toys out the cot haha.

Its still a pretty awesome game. The potential criminal / victim idea is great:
I was following a woman who was having a text convo with a dodgy guy - I proceeded to follow her and the guy appeared in an alley and suddenly stabbed her. If I had acted faster I could have saved her life...pretty damn cool.

Well Wolfenstein on PS3 is a total mess
So heres hoping Watch Dogs is a BIT better! I knew the PS3 one would not be as impressive as the PS4 one, but no car damage

@Knight
Really? Wolfenstein on PS3 looked really terrible on my 6 year old HD LCD, and then I played it on an LED tv and it looked incredible. There were visual effects that wasn't been displayed on my LCD.

Also I thought it played really well as well, nice and smooth.

As for Watch Dogs, I'm testing the PS3 version, on my old tv so yeah, the outdoor areas don't look great while the indoor areas do. But it's the gameplay that matters and the odd 4 hours I've spent on the game I've really enjoyed.

I know alot of people seem to be complaining that the hacking is one dimensional, and maybe a one button system for that may be too streamlined for people, but the application of it I've found to be really smart.

The first Ctos centre I needed to invade, I didn't even bother going into. I stood half a block away and hacked the cameras and took the guards out using the environment. It all plays out like a very smart little puzzle if you want it to. And of course dropping a shipping container onto a couple of guards with the press of a button was really fun.

I like that the game gives the choice of how you want to do things.

Oh and I quite like driving indestructible cars !bm

@DG Where to begin dude, Wolfenstein is a mess for me on PS3!
Its such a cool game, but every day theres something new that goes wrong.
Last night while playing, I hide in a small room! To check for health, ammo & take a breather. & the back of this one wall had NO texture, was just static!!
Developers just released a broken game, they did release a patch for PS4! But nothing for PS3!!!
Breaks my heart man, such an awesome game & all these glitches & bugs just bring it right on down
Check the “What are you playing” thread, for all the other stuff I said!
