it was a Japanese event for the Japanese market.
Because that is exactly what the PSV Heaven event is. It is aimed at that Japanese demographic and not anyone else. That said, a price drop is obviously coming worldwide... no one does a price drop for just one region.
It is also worth nothing that the very end of the conference actually hinted at a new murder mystery game called Danganronpa, seeing a PSV release.

That is all beside the point. None of the games shown at PSV Heaven have Western releases confirmed (dragons crown being teh exception, and they may not get for sometime still). They do, however, have releases coming up soon in Japan, and games like Gundam Breaker may stay in Japan. If the PSV Heaven news was at the PS Meet, it would be incredibly out of place and mean nothing.
They dont need eh Heaven event to be around the world... they didnt start the event for you, or for me or anyone not Japanese. Western PSV news can come in its own time. I can assure you no one in Japan is complaining because there are two events... neither should anyone else.

So your point is, it isn't for you so when news travels around the world in seconds you should just ignore it? We have Vitas, we are starved of good news for the Vita, therefore we will pay attention to any news on the Vita.
Seriously man, the point is, is that the West has access to Jap news, the price cut is reported around the world and to mix two events and leave people to speculate can hurt you and your big event later in the week. Get ahead of the news and analysis, consolidate the message and do not allow people to speculate and create bad buzz.

aka, the Japan PSV heaven event just created more buzz for Sony's big event.

That is interesting (makes the PSV Heaven event being Japan only even more important).
Either a pre-E3 announcement or they are going to wait until they unveil a new set of unannounced games.

Sony has confirmed two classic collections for Vita: the God of War Collection and the Sly Cooper Collection.
The Sly Cooper Collection (alternatively titled Sly Cooper Trilogy in EU) packages together all three of the series' PS2 entries, including Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honour Among Thieves. It arrives in EU on April 16
It will be joined by the God of War Collection, which will contain God of War 1 and 2, hitting EU on May 8.
Both collections promise "re-mastered graphics", Trophy support and Touchscreen and Dual Analogue control enhancements, and both will be released both at retail and digitally via the PlayStation Store. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
