heard the battery is unswappable... well not by us ... als that is has 4 hour battery life

Still dont like the look of the OS i pray to god it doesn't come to ps3.

Also interested in hearing more on the battery, if it's not swappable by us im unfazed but i hope its longer than 4 hours lol

Battery life is still on an unofficial basis. A Sony rep did say something that it equates to the PSP 3000 which is decent enough I suppose.

Battery is not swappable that is correct. The reasoning is that the rear track pad makes it difficult for the average consumer to have to open up the device and change out he battery.
I don't see this as a problem: I'm still using my PSP 1000 battery the device came with.

Yeah, I hope the OS design can be changed. There are issues I have with it, such as no shortcutting keys and the randomness of where things are placed (if you watch the LiveArea demo which I'll add later).

That said, if it can be customized to include new layouts then that would be great, but I can understand why something like this was chosen: to make it more touch screen friendly, but I'm sure the XMB can also e navigated as such.

Xmb works great with the move, done see why this would be different lol, never thought i would want the xmb back hahaha

Yeah, NGP really does surpass the 3DS tech wise. Seems like theres good support from developers for the device. Priced right, Sony may have a winner on their hands.

Lol no[censored] The NGP is more powerful than the 3DS.

The PSP was more powerful than the DS, So far on the NGP only thing that has me interested is Little Deviants as that seems to be the kind of game i want to play on a hand held.

Everything else in that montage looks like something id rather play on an actual console.

So yeah until they get off the creating console games for a hand held buzz im still more for the 3DS though.

How ever i do agree if the price is right nintendo will have challange.

But yeah i want a better game library this time around, games besides monster hunter that i will play when im out and about.

i heard about the 3g not being free and that it will work with service providers that are providing 3g at a fee and also a subscription to thepsn thing

i think its stupid of them ... as i think the 3g feature is for download of games to the ngp .... they us just pay for the games ... not extra stuff ..we already have expensive slow net ...

i was hoping it would be like the kindle where u can purchase straight from the shop and it has its 3g...

Not going to happen I'm afraid. Looks like they want the console experience to be fully emulated on a handheld. Though I am going to disagree with you on this point (would never have with the original PSP). With the better control scheme and trophy support, the NGP could easily become my gaming device of choice.

Ok, firstly there is no official information on 3G monthly fees. All we know is that it is being investigated by Sony and negotiations with different carriers are taking place. Chances are you will have to pay monthly, but that has nothing to do with the 'PSN thing' which I assume you mean is PSN Plus?

The 3G is only available in the more expensive model of the NGP. Both models come with Wi-fi so you really don't have to worry.

The 3G is there to keep your NGP connected to the net on as a continual basis as possible. Sony are pushing the social networking aspect as shown by their app NEAR which allows you to see who else is playing their NGP in your current area etc.

Just get the cheaper wifi model and you'll be fine

Free 3g? Hahaha why the heck would you think its free? Its bandwidth you will have to pay domewhere.

That's my problem with it. It's a console, I see it more as a poor man's ps3 than portable. I still say given the starting line up of titles 3DS takes the lead.

End of the day the thing cam be the most powerful machine ever but with out a worth while library it will sit in most peoples draws and come out once in a blue moon.

I hope we get some good launch titles in sa when it hits our shores

In my opinion they should just let you rip it with a reader and some form of net connected software that registers your disc to the mac adress or serial number of your NGP and only that one.

Lets face it the pirates have been getting the PSP games for years with ease, i highly doubt allowing people to rip their umd collection for personal use is going to increase piracy anymore than its already at.


And even you had to buy the software and umd reader i would happily get if i knew my psp collection could be ported for a reasonable price.

Something along those lines would make me a hell of alot more interested in getting one of these and put me at alot more ease with buying the PSP games like Valkyria chronciles 2 - 3, Prinny games and others which are currently out.

Fair enough . I mean, I was slightly disappointed to learn that Killzone NGP was not Liberation 2.

That said, I don't see how the 3DS lineup is actually any better. Besides 2 or 3 games, the 3DS lineup is just ports or console games on a handheld. At least so far we've seen all brand new games for the NGP, save 2 or 2 titles like Hot Shots Golf.

Would definitely be a great thing to do but I'm not to sure how that would exactly working without issues. In fact, it sounds like piracy potential.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love my PSP games to just be usable on the NGP but tis not going to kill me. Im not going to rid myself of my PSP anytime soon f=after getting a NGP.

Yeah but like is said, do you really think it's going to increase the piracy levels at all when i can already go onto numerous amounts of sites out there and download practically the entire psp libary?

PSP has been hit as bad as the DS when it comes to piracy these days.

I honestly dont giving the people a chance to rip their own games, especially legally and if they add some shine too it to encourge people even more to go the legit route, i see more people going that way as its simpler and easier than using it for piracy.

The current PSPGo package has a DVD with 10 games on that you install from PC to PSPGo using PSN only for authentication so that part is feasible.

The problem is there are no plans for a 'UMD Reader' which would have to be a piece of hardware. I see the 'possible' lack of BC a big issue since the batteries in PSP can't last for ever.

Well I got the PSP Goand I'm glad I got the Go...and pardon me for saying but I was waiting for it to be hacked(Thank God it been has recently!) so I can play my legally Backed Up games on the Go! I wasn't going to spend more money buying them off PSN..Sorry Sony!
My point is I'm also against Piracy but the thing I like to play on my portables is Emulator's and thanks to hacker's you guys can play them on your PSP's now without even hacking your PSP's!
