I saw a lineup for the NGP on www.lazygamer.co.za and it was impressive. If Nintendo had a similar lineup for the 3DS, sales would definitely not be in the crapper. That is Nintendo's biggest mistake, launching hardware and expecting people to buy before any decent software becomes available.

Wow! This thing is quite powerful. It's like a ps3 in the palm of your hands. Game lineup is strong. Multiplayer and its console compatibility is madness.
I’m actually eager for its release (and I am not a fan of handhelds). I’m expecting the price to be ridiculous though, especially at launch. Must start gathering funds…

just one thing, i keep seeing people saying the game line-up is strong. ummm what games are we talking about? i haven't seen any notable 3rd party games from j-devs.

@Ragna Call of Duty and Uncharted are the two that spring to mind immediately for me. I think that there is an MK title (MK9?) as well. The Jap dev games may be light, but two major franchises, possibly 3, at launch gives it strong line up.

Thats all well and good but, unless youvebought your psp games of the store already, it means youre gonna have to repurchase them again to play it, if you've bought em on UMD.

Because all the known games are 1st party titles. Sony's Western devs far outstrip their Japanese devs in terms of numbers, hence why there is so many Western titles being shown by Sony.

Additionally, it is the West where Sony wants this device to take off. We already know that JPN devs are on board.. . the likes of Imagepoch and NipponIchi have 2011 titles for the device. E3 is when all of these will be shown off, hence why so much of the known games have been getting media now: Sony does not need to use E3 to show them off as much.

Until the final launch title is known it is difficult to gauge its strength. But Uncharted seems like a winner atm.

True but this should be a non-issue by now .Since the NGP was first announced we knew UMD's purchases were not going to work.
Either way the PSN PSP lineup will be available from launch so there is a healthy backlog of titles for those who may be interested.

But I hope Sony take into account people's UMD libraries somehow and figure some sort of trade system for them. Unlikely given technical and piracy challenges, I know, but it would be nice

that was the price of the 3DS on launch though. With a strong launch lineup at least the PSV will look more compelling.

I'll most likely import as well, but I'll be in Japan when it launches and that will be around R2500 for the 3g/ wifi model, so not too bad.

Im just worried about what it will do to our pricing here but yeah probably import.

Launch line up is great, want to try get little deviants and wipe out, uncharted can wait for a-bit lol

This may be a lame question but if you get a 3G version, who's network do you use? Vodacom, mtn...? Also does that mean a package plan?
