Hey @Tea, any chance you can organise a copy of Silent Hill Origins for me? Doesn't matter which platform

@IkariX it's a good thing IDGAF about your opinion then, lol
It may surprise you to know that other people have different experiences to your own. But I know that concept may be too far out of reach for you.

As for Nexus, I don't know why you ban people that have legitimate points relating to polls you create. None of what I said was out of line, but clearly you prefer sycophants like IkariX on the forum instead of customers who have legitimate criticism of your logistics (which you make us pay for).

Nexushub has the best customer service no doubt. I have had other retailers that don't care about restocking on sold out titles but yet nexushub helped get me townfall steelbooks and control resonant steelbooks even though they were sold out. No one cares about delivery fees as long as you get the physical game in good condition like I have, especially steelbooks which can be fragile.

@DarkWingDuck

I'm going to call [censored] on your post. I've been buying from Nexus since the AnimeWorx days from about 2008. I have literally never ever had bad customer service from NexusHub. So you are being disingenuous. I don't think you appreciate the great lengths they go to, to get these games for us. But enjoy your other retailers and their[censored] service.

MrOde very good point! I'd pay extra for express overnight shipping.

HaseoVII SAME regarding FF7Rebirth (best believe I preordered Revelation though )

I am such a huge fan of Nexus Hub - no one else in SA imports the niche titles - I used to need to get my stuff from Amazon Japan/US

My backlog is so big I don't care how late I get my orders lol haven't even played FF7 Rebirth or even Stellar Blade yet, but that's just me.

I'd actually go even further and say do standard free shipping for all orders above R1000 but allow an express shipping option/add on for those that want to pay extra. I would gladly pay extra to get whatever I ordered the day after I order it.

Shipping costs on games? What's that?

I'm not looking to start a bad thread about this, I was really just curious because I misclicked the tab on the left and stumbled upon the poll (I'd never clicked it before).

I am fiercely brand loyal to Nexus Hub and I don't care too much about not getting a game day-1. I know other names like BT and Koodoo ship earlier so you get it on release, but I'd never be "that" excited that I must play day-1, life happens
On the other hand, paying an extra R150 every time you order a commercially available title does add up, and I would not blame the average consumer for trying to save some money.

I know I'd feel less off about it if there was a price match, and free delivery at a certain threshold.

I mean if I can save money, why wouldn't I?

Are there circumstances where I would pay that extra without thinking twice about it, yes. In general there's little reason to do so.

That said, touching on Darkwing's point of eBucks, payment options feel like a lot bigger point than the R50 delivery. Lot of places offering rewards, pay later, etc. Those are big pull points for customers.

I'm pretty keen on getting it, but I'm going to wait for a second hand copy. This is a game that requires a heck of a commitment to play, and also I want the hype to die down a bit.

Firstly, I suspect a lot of 2nd hand copies will be available, partly because this game has been advertised and hyped like mad, so I expect a lot of ppl will buy it purely on that basis, without any idea of what Elder Scrolls games are actually like (read: looooong and boring at times with a lot of tedious missions in between).
I know one friend, just one friend who played Oblivion from start to finish.

Secondly, Bethesda is notorious for releasing buggy games, so it wouldn't hurt to wait a while so they can patch everything up.

And lastly, I just have a crap ton to play right now, and this just isn't a top priority.

@Tiggi
Bit of a concern yes. On one hand, the game may be buggy which will mean you waste some time and restart at a later stage. Some new DLC may expand the world in such a way that a replay is needed.
On the other hand, the game could play perfect... which means you are looking at at least 50 hours playtime...
So... It's a time sink any way you look at it.

I think the chances of it sucking so bad you stop playing completely after 2 hours is small... but some people may not like the fantasy setting.

Here's how I see it:

Gamer: Alright awesome, dragon fighting fantasy game with epic spells and weaponry!
*1 hour in*
Gamer: Hmmm, ok so all I have is some rubbish items, no spells yet and I keep running around chatting to random NPCs in forests.
*5 hours in*
Gamer: Seriously where the hell are these dragons? All I fight are mobs of imps, and all I have are 2 spells that I'm already bored with.
*6 hours in*
Gamer: Screw this, I'm playing MW3

Anyone who has ever played a Bethesda open world game knows you need to put in some time before things get really interesting. Then again, I could be wrong .

It's much better than Oblivion imo.
Oblivion didn't quite... Catch me. As for Skyrim, was hooked from the beginning.

Actually what have they done as far as online goes? I've been trying to find some info but haven't had much success.

How does multiplayer get incorporated in the game?

Its Elder Scrolls, as far as I know there is no mp functionality at all. Online functions will most likely be the same as for Oblivion, that is updates and expansions, etc.

So far its really cool. And you're pushed into the thick of the action pretty early on. Less than an hour to get past the first dungeon and into the world, unlike Oblivions opinion which was an hour to 2 just to get into the world. And anyone whose played and enjoyed an Elder Scrolls game knows how it goes from there, as in, "Oooh whats over that hill, lets see. . . wait whats behind those mountains, lets roll!"

And main quest is forgotten.

The Dark Souls online mechanic is by far the best implementation in a single player RPG I have ever seen, bar none.

Other developers should take note of how to do it, especially since it's optional and doesn't interfere with the SP gameplay much if you opt not to use it.

This game is incredible - just started it and I cannot believe how huge and open it is in terms of exploration and Quest options. Managed to slay some dragons. Revive an ancient tree and dual spell cast all in under 8 hrs.
