@Catha - I get you - I still waited on the physical for Alan Wake 2. Was also improved by then with updates

Luckily we arent starved for games at the moment - too many releases

@Tea - it's pretty sad. Like Physical needs any more blows

Going to suck, navigating the minefield of spoilers. Already a 2 day early access perk for deluxe digital. Now a further 3 weeks.

I suppose it's better than the year that AW2 had to wait.

Post them trailers and a shot description of the upcoming movies that you’re looking forward to:

Tucker & Dale vs Evil

Tucker & Dale are on vacation at their dilapidated mountain cabin when they are attacked by a group of preppy college kids.

Probably two of my most anticipated movies right now:

The Hunger Games (2012)

No trailer yet, but here's the poster.
http://static.thehollywoodgossip.com/images/gallery/the-hunger-games-movie-poster_411x649.png
Here's a wicked motion version of the same poster above.
http://blastr.com/2011/07/1st-blazing-hunger-games.php

The Hunger Games chronicles a dystopic Capitol which requires its twelve subjugated districts to pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl, forced to participate in the annual “Hunger Games,” a fight-to-the-death live televised event. Katniss Everdeen’s little sister is chosen in the lottery to participate and Katniss volunteers to take her place. Although persevering through hardship is commonplace for Katniss, she must start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love in order to win the games and return home.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

It's Spidey, you guys know the story. The Lizard is the main villain, expect a pseudo reboot, no Mary Jane but Gwen Stacy.
Have loved everything I've seen of it so far, looks to best Raimi's trilogy quite easily. Keep in mind that I am an uber fan and hence easy to satisfy

Cowboys & Aliens

A spaceship arrives in Arizona, 1873, to take over the Earth, starting with the Wild West region. A posse of cowboys are all that stand in their way.

@DG: As expected, mixed reactions all over for the Superman suit.
I for one am just grateful we're getting another Superman movie, people seem to find it to easy to complain about everything and anything these days.

But for sake of discussion, my thoughts, obviously limited to that promo pic; loving Cavill's look, he looks bulky and like he can give and take a beating.
Love the atmosphere, yes Superman is supposed to be the paragon of good, but I like that they've gone with a little more of a roughed up look than previous "holier than thou" teasers that make Superman look like a supermodel (excuse the pun).
I can live with the hair. Yes it's a huge gimmick with the character, much like how his disguise is just a pair of glasses. But honestly I don't mind it. Besides they've shown pics of Cavill sporting the trademark curl so I don't get why so many ppl bitch about the hair.
Love the massive cape, seriously, it's awesome.

The suit I'm 50/50 over. In high-res pics it looks scaly, which is both good and bad. I can understand why they use it, to add texture and make it look less like a leotard. Also, think of what he does with the suit. Flying through space, buildings, asteroids, and getting beat downs from the likes of Darkseid and Doomsday, the thing needs to take a beating. So I'm all for a more armored look. Also I guess we'll see how the suit comes to be, but if it's of alien origin that would also explain why it looks so unlike what was expected.
I just don't know if the scales are necessary, but it could just be a trick of the lighting. Initially also thought the new Spidey suit was scaly but it's just a weaved texture over it. The rest looks like a basketball.

Ultimately, it's a reinterpretation, they should be allowed to take liberties with the look of heroes. It worked for Batman.

I'm seriously digging the massive cape myself. I'm not to fussed about the scaled look, gotten over that. I still don't think that Cavill looks like Superman, but I do like the bulky look, though I'm guessing thats more through CG or Latex muscles since, if you take a look at the Immortals trailer, Cavill is nowhere near this level of bulk.

One issue I do have is that, you cant see it from this but the red trunks are gone, probably to keep it i line with the new look Superman's suite is gonna have in the DC relaunch comics.

Biggest issue is that this is a rush job movie, WB ha been pushing to get a Superman movie done and released before the end of the year because they lose the Superman license at years end. Also Snyder was not their first choice for the movie either, he was a last minute replacement.

Also Nolan was involved so thats a big no-no for me, he screwed Batman up bad enough and now Supes too?

That said, one positive of having Snyder doing the movie is maybe we'll finally see fight sequences worthy of Superman, with people actually been punched through buildings and stuff. However they should have chosen a different bad guy, Zod, again? Really? He's been 100% lame in all his incarnations.

@DG: Fair enough, valid concerns. Speaking for myself, Snyder has yet to do a movie I haven't enjoyed so I have positive expectations for it.
Even if it may be a rush job, even if they aren't using the best villain out of Superman's illustrious gallery of baddies, as I said I'm just happy we're getting more movies, especially after the previous attempt failed so badly.

Who gets the license after WB? I didn't think it would run out in our lifetime.

I'm more concerned with it been a remake/reboot, since as Nolan stated, neither his Batman nor this Superman had anything to do with the comic universe, which means when WB does finally get around to doing a JLA movie, both Superman and Batman would need to be rebooted with a whole new cast, etc, such a waste. They should have taken a page out of Marvel's book on how they're linking their live-action movies together to create a coherent movie universe that won't need too many movies all bearing the same name and having nothing in common, plus it means no recasting, well almost. And quite frankly I'm tired of seeing the origin story retold and the same bad guys reintroduced continously.

As for Superman Returns, I loved it but I can see how the movie going public would be disappointed.

The license goes back to Siegel and Schuster, the creators, families. WB and the descendants have been in a legal battle over the Superman rights for quite awhile now. Hence the reason WB has been pushing to get this movie done so quickly.

I'm sorry but that looks like crap, you should watch the original & see how awesome it was. Another unnecessary Hollywood remake.

I'm a huge fan of the original, it's one of the best vampire movies ever made in my opinion, so I wasn't all that happy about a remake. The newest trailer I saw for the remake yesterday does look alot better than the first and that its gonna be R rated as well is hopefully a good thing. I'm not gonna link it to the original in any way and just hope that its an entertaining watch in its own right.

Seriously you have to have Fright Night 1 and 2, they're essential to any movie collection, especially a horror movie one.

@Demon Dave I was psyched for GR until the last bit with GR p*ssing fire. That, to me, just indicates the whole tone of the film that the Crank guys are going for. Instead of hard action and horror they seem to be going for childish and infantile.
