As it turns out, there may have been a price after all.

Let’s take this new rumor with a grain of salt for the time being until we can get more concrete information, but it certainly makes sense. The folks from Den of Geek are reporting that, in order for Fox to have these X-Men shows, they had to give Fantastic Four back to Marvel. That means Reed Richards, Johnny Storm, Sue Storm, and Ben Grimm will feature in the Marvel Cinematic Universe of Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. Den of Geek also stipulates that the first Fantastic Four film is likely due out in 2020.

And, whaddya know, Marvel recently announced three untitled superhero movies to be released on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020. Coincidence? It could be, but the time frame of these announcements makes sense, and the rumor also states that this deal between Marvel and Fox has been in the works for a long time.

While it would be nice to see them cameo in MCU films they definitely don't merit any more films (just like Iron Man and Wolverine for that matter).

@Sandman I have about a kilo of salt next to me, but I was surprised that Marvel was collaborating with Fox on the X-Men shows since I know that Marvel retains all characters TV show rights, all they sold off in the '90's was the movie rights. This kinda makes sense, but I will wait and see.

The thing that makes me believe this is going to happen…

Marvel planned to kill of the F4 in the comics in issue 550…however this changed…the sort of got new life blow into them…

Now, for past experiences. Marvel does did a lot when a new movie is planned around that character or team.

They did it with revamps of the comic books for Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Luke Cage and even Iron Fist…and the all now appearing on some screen…

So since I am nearly a bigger F4 fan as any other Marvel team I hope we get to see them in the MCU..

Yeah, in the comics.
Considering that Wolverine is "dead" in the comics. & this is the last Wolverine movie, X-23 isn't that much of a long shot.
Plus it will just be cool to see her

@KF Because the character is so linked to one actor I think that they want to put some time and distance between Jackman and the next Wolverine. I reckon that we will wait at least 5 years, ,ore likely 10, before they recast Wolverine, unless the next set of X-films do even worse than Apocalypse. TBH I am hoping that Fox takes a breather on the X-films as whole and lets things settle down before relaunching them. They need it IMO

Agreed.
BUT, what if Marvel took back the X Men movie rights.
Spidy, FF, Avengers, GotG & the X Men ALL together! We can dream...

TBH I would prefer them not to get the X-Men back. The X-Men are still the Marvel premiere team, let Marvel mine their B and C list characters, they've made very good films so far with them, leave the X-teams at Fox and let them do what they want with them.

Not quite a Marvel movie, but this is the most appropriate thread. Anyway Fox is developing a film about Stan Lee set in the 60s.
