@DEATHGIGAS
They have it listed here: https://nexushub.co.za/product/control-resonant-pid285827.html

Just keep in mind that the physical edition was delayed from Remedy's side, so releases like a month after digital.

Ironic thing. There is going to be an album for GTA6. And it will be available on both CD and Vinyl.

So clearly it's about control for Sony and Rockstar, not wanting you to own games. But you can own a CD and Vinyl. Both are crappy companies. I really want to see Sony crash and burn so hard. But the way Sony is going, it might be sooner, rather than later.

Disturbing...
EA calls Tomb Raider a Flop for 3.4 million copies, but they seem to think Simcity (2 million copies) was a "Success"
http://kotaku.com/ea-honestly-believes-simcity-has-been-a-success-902634068

WTF?

^^ Surely that has something to do with the budget each game was developed on?

Considering SimCity also needed servers to keep going, and was, for lack of a better word, one of the biggest clusterSucks of the past few years, I cannot see how it can be counted a success.

@Teb 2m copies sold with insane DRM is probably why they consider it a success. It was also a PC only game, so 2m may qualify as a success on a single plat title of more numbers on a multi plat title.

Also you have to remember that no company is going to call a flop what it is. The last thing they want is for investors to run away. Therefore they'll take even the smallest silver lining and run with it. Plus no matter how rubbishy or buggy the game is, at the end of the day so long as the revenue is just $1 more than the costs they made a profit and therefore its a success.

Marketing can massively inflate the cost of any game or film.

Halo 3: $30m development budget + $30m promotional and marketing budget.

End of the day though I'm sure it was worth them spending all that extra money on the marketing.

http://www.techradar.com/news/world-of-tech/future-tech/is-technology-making-us-less-human--1171002

The article mentions how video games can help against de-humanisation, but it is only mentioned briefly. I really do think that most video games are excellent at providing sensory feedback – be it visual, sound or emotions. I would much rather spend hours and hours on a good video game then on facebook especailly if taht game has a multiplayer feature

This article just solidified my belief that alot of companies don't care about what the end user needs and its just about money for them.

Mmmm... interesting opinion here:
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/im-longer-buying-games-steam-opinion/

Of why Steam is evil.
Pretty sure this will be how ALL systems will work in the next 5 odd years though.

It boils down to: "Do what we say, when we say, or we will deactivate your account and you will lose EVERYTHING."
